Dear Ms. Aziz,

Have you ever wondered how different life would have been if you never had the opportunity to acquire quality education?

The overall literacy rate of females in Pakistan is only 26% - one of the lowest in the world. There are 163,000 primary schools in Pakistan, of which merely 40,000 cater to girls. To help improve this dismal situation, the Students Activity Committee at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) is organizing an on-campus singing competition on December 1, 2008. The proceeds from this competition will go towards the construction of a primary school for girls in Hyderabad.

By sponsoring this competition, you will be helping females like yourself who yearn to utilize their potential and achieve their goals in life. You will also get the opportunity to create awareness and market your products amongst the huge (approximately 4000) student body as well as faculty and parents attending the event.

Following are the branding options that might interest you:

• Stage branding with your company logo on the backdrop and podium.

• Set up of Success Factor stall at the entrance door of the venue where your company representatives can talk to students and distribute informational flyers.

• Free press and media coverage as well as an editorial in the IoBM newsletter.

• Banners (wall / hanging) and floor stands at key locations at the venue.

• Branding on free student giveaways such as T-shirts, pens, notebooks, and caps.

• Branding on the microphone used by the commentators and contestants during the three hour show.

• Branding on the trophies awarded to the finalists of the competition.

It is said educating a female is educating an entire family. As

...the adult figure that they are in contact with at the time. The ways in which children learn and develop will ultimately affect how they process the messages they receive from their microsystems, thus play a role in their attitudes and beliefs (Bojczyk, Shriner, & Shriner, 2012). In Piaget’s second stage of developmental the preoperational stage children begin to develop their own attitudes and beliefs about the world around them (Bojczyk, Shriner, & Shriner, 2012). Children are continuously learning in the preoperational stage and learning to find their own way. Parents are critical agents of intentional socialization by explicitly teaching children specific beliefs and values that are part of the family’s cultural and religious values (Bojczyk, Shriner, & Shriner, 2012). Each of the strategies for teaching in a culturally diverse classroom go hand in hand so that if one of the strategies do not work you can use another to fit the children’s needs. Different strategies will help the children to develop appropriate so that they can be active successful members of society. Modeling is a very good strategy for children, as children will try to mimic what they see the adults in their life do. According to the NAEYC, “Modeling attitudes, ways of approaching a problem, and behaviors towards others by showing them how to do it rather than just...

Joseph Boyden's Three-Day Road

...The definition of war will look different depending on who you ask; some may say it is a fight for survival or a measure of protection, but for some, it is simply a joyous rush of adrenaline. In Three Day Road, written by Joseph Boyden, Elijah and Xavier are men who embody this idea of contradiction. Boyden writes these two characters in a way that shows readers the perspective of war from a soldier's point of view while also demonstrating how a person's opinions and attitude towards war vary. This detail is present in a passage on page two hundred eighty three. These particular paragraphs greatly signify the reality of war for both the characters in the novel as well as for soldiers today. Not only is this passage demonstrating the contrasting...

Courage

...Courage Your time is limited, so do not waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition (brainy quotes). The current dictionary’s definitions of courage intend to be a little inadequate because they only really reference to physical courage and omit instances of inner strength. Three commonly used dictionaries agree closely on the definition although they differ in the order of importance. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes courage as "an attitude of facing and dealing with anything recognized as dangerous, difficult or painful, instead of withdrawing from it," and the American Heritage Dictionary gives a similar explanation. While the Oxford Dictionary affiliates with this meaning, it states that the primary definition is "spirit, mind, or disposition." Courage is a state of mind: that enables a person to overcome fear, pain, danger, or hardship. Although different from one another, all aspects of courage involve taking risks. Physical courage is linked to every human body. Courage is not just found in the soldiers who can display shiny medals or in the detectives who bravely risks their life for justice as portrayed on television. It is not an elementary school girl who agrees to fight, but she who can stand up against it. A six year old boy who...

Personal Communication Ethics Statement

...for each person but for the most part, people want to be known as a good person, someone who can be trusted, and he or she are concerned about his or her relationships and personal reputations. A speaker can influence his or her credibility by demonstrating you knowledge, trustworthiness and good intentions. People trust a message if they think it is true and reliable and the communicator is knowledgeable and honest. People have confidence in a source if their trust has been rewarded over time. Your emotional and functional state will influence the meaning you give to your views. Also, seeing only the positive in people that you like and only the negative in the people that you do not like is called bias. Be aware of perceptual evaluations influenced by your own biases. Self-concept differs in different situations and at different times through many different ways. One way would be through others images of you. If you wanted to see how friendly or how confident you are, you would look at the image of yourself that others reveal to you through their behaviors and especially through the way they treat you and react to you. Another way is through social teachings. Through parents, teachers, and the media, your culture inspires in you a variety of beliefs, values, and...

Social Learning Theory

...learn new information and behaviors by watching other people. Known as observational learning (or modeling) this type of learning can be used to explain a wide variety of behaviors. People learn through observing others behavior , attitudes and outcomes of those behaviors. Social Learning Theory explains human beahvior in terms of continuous reciprocal interaction between cognitive , behavioral and environmental influences. Necessary conditions for effective modelling are: ATTENTION: various factors increases or decreases the amount of attention paid. In order to learn, you need to be paying attention. Anything that distracts your attention is going to have a negative effect on observational learning. If the model interesting or there is a novel aspect to the situation, you are far more likely to dedicate your full attention to learning. RETENTION: remembering what you paid attention to. Includes symbolic coding , mental images etc The ability to store information is also an important part of the learning process. Retention can be affected by a number of factors, but the ability to pull up information later and act on it is vital to observational learning. REPRODUCTION: reproducing the image . Including physical capabilities . Once you have paid attention to the model and retained the...

Rhetorical Analysis Of Punk's Not Dead

...This approach of displaying his contention, thus, became overwhelmingly emotional. This can clearly be observed toward the end of his piece where he states, “Think about it. If you were an authority figure threatened by strong minds that have not yet matured, wouldn’t you be afraid? Fuck yeah you would” (557). This statement presents itself with an exaggerated amount of pathos appeal as Josh Delmar Zimmerman purposefully alluded to his young punk character that he discussed throughout the entire article. It embodies that rebellious, care free attitude that Zimmerman so clearly depicted with statements such as “Sometimes whirling around in a circle of individuals with arms flying, legs kicking, bodies slamming, music thrashing, and lyrics penetrating is dangerous” (577). Punk’s Not Dead’s anecdotal and reflective presentation of individuality allowed it to contain emotionally connect with its target...

Persuasive Communication

...The scientific study of this process of making somebody believe that something is true has been under way for well over half a century, beginning in earnest with the propaganda, public information and persuasion programs of World War II. Since that time, numerous social scientists have investigated the ways in which one individual can influence another’s attitudes and actions. As analyzed in the video, there are six factors or shortcuts that influence us to say YES to the request of others. These six basic tendencies of human behavior come into play in generating a positive response. Understanding and employing them in an ethical manner, can significantly improve our chances that someone will be persuaded by our request. These factors are: • Reciprocation: People are driven to repay debts. If for example your new colleague pays you lunch for the first time, you’ll probably fell you own him a favor. Therefore; you are more likely to say YES to his requests. With that said, if you want to succeed in this case, give something away to create a feeling of indebtedness. Then ask for what you want. • Scarcity: Occurs when items and opportunities become more desirable to us as they become less available. When persuading others using the Scarcity principle, is necessary to point out what is unique about your proposition, its benefits, and what they stand to lose if in case of rejection. • Authority: This principle states the idea that people will follow the lead of credible...

Communication

...paperwork was not attached, instead he never gave me the paperwork so I was lost. When I confronted him with this problem he assumed that I already knew what to do. I went into his office to let him know that instead of sending me an email, he should have spoken to me face to face and I can clearly know what I am doing. If I has any questions to ask him I would have been able to have asked him right there and then. I do not mind sending messages through emails, but sometimes you do not look at your emails every second of the day. I did explain why I thought for future jobs that need critical attention it should be a face-to-face discussion.
