Communication can be defined as the transmission of sending and receiving messages. Connecting with individuals through the exchange of messages, thoughts, speech, signals, behavior, or writing. Communication can be verbal or nonverbal, written or visual. Oral communication includes spoken words and writing dialogues.Not involving or using words of speech is known as nonverbal communication. Facial expressions, body posture, eye contact, or gestures are all part of non verbal communication. Written communication can be done through emails, reports, articles and many other ways. The most common forms of nonverbal communication is the use of facial expressions and hand gestures. By using hand gestures, helps express an idea or meaning however, if used more than necessary it can become a distraction and have a negative effect, as a consequence the audience is not receiving the full message as intended. Another distraction is by changing locations or position because it can prevent someone from giving full attention on the topic being discussed. Positive demonstrative communication would be to speak loud and clearly in a very confident way. Using visuals graphs or power points to help the audience gain understanding. Body posture and a positive attitude that will involve you to listen and respond to your audience if any questions are asked. Effective communication requires one to understand the emotion behind the information. Successful communication combines a set of skills including nonverbal communication, attentive listening, the ability to manage stress at the moment, and the capacity to recognize and understand ones own emotions and those of the person you're exchanging information with.
