Developing Your Skills

Based on what I’ve learned about myself in this class some of my strengths are teamwork and leadership. Some of my skills that need improvement are my time management skills and my presentation skills. Strengths | Weakness | Teamwork Skills | Time management | Leadership Skills | Presentation Skills |

One skill I would like to improve is my leadership skill. When it comes to being a leader I step in when I need to and take over, but only if I am comfortable with my surroundings. I don’t like how it’s only when I’m familiar with the faces or the surroundings. I want to be a leader no matter my surrounding.
Another skill of mines that need improvement is my presentation skill. My presentation skill is completely weak because I am completely shy. No matter how comfortable I am with the people I am presenting in front of, I still cannot reach that comfort zone to be myself and feel free to present. It gets so bad to the point my body start shaking, my hands gets really worm and I start to stutter. For as long as I remember this is how it’s always been for me. If I can overcome this fear of presenting in front of people, it will be a huge accomplishment for me. And a great start to improving my presentation skills.
Last but not least would be my time management skills because as I college student I know that’s my biggest weakness, and a weakness that can cost me everything. Such as failing my classes, and even getting put on academic probation, or lose a good job in the future because I can’t manage my time. The reason why I procrastinate is because I get lazy and distracted easily by technology. When an assignment is assign I like to do it right away, that day in class. Once I take that assignment home there is a high chance I won’t do it until one or two days before it is due. Developing this skills

Developing Your Brand

...For a moment, consider who the audience is for your MBA application.  You will be spending countless hours writing a magnum opus that may be read by only one individual—or a select few at most. These people have many applications that they need to go through every day, and even the most meticulous individuals may at times miss some parts of your essays. That’s why you need to make things as clear and easy to read as possible for the admissions committee team by making sure that they can’t miss who you are and what you can bring to an incoming MBA class. The best business school applications feature four or five aspects of the candidate’s character and experiences that anyone reading the essays will identify. These traits blend to create “Brand You.” We all understand the power and influence that brands have. Businesses spend a lot of money to make sure you know how they bring value and what they stand for. While there are many more subtle parts to their full corporate identities and many tones to their product/service offerings, companies need to ensure that purchasers have a complete understanding of a limited set of characteristics. As an example, this is list of traits for a few reputable companies: 1. Low prices every day of the week, large selection, one-stop store 2. Fun place to be, socially responsible, respect for employees 3. Creative design, simple, cool 4. Cheeky, young, influencing lifestyles 5. Fun, family, fantasy Even from only these...

Developing Your Brand

...A business (also known as enterprise or firm) is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers.[1] Businesses are predominant in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and administered to earn profit to increase the wealth of their owners. Businesses may also be not-for-profit or state-owned. A business owned by multiple individuals may be referred to as a company, although that term also has a more precise meaning. The etymology of "business" relates to the state of being busy either as an individual or society as a whole, doing commercially viable and profitable work. The term "business" has at least three usages, depending on the scope — the singular usage to mean a particular organization; the generalized usage to refer to a particular market sector, "the music business" and compound forms such as agribusiness; and the broadest meaning, which encompasses all activity by the community of suppliers of goods and services. However, the exact definition of business, like much else in the philosophy of business, is a matter of debate and complexity of meanings. Classifications Agriculture and mining businesses are concerned with the production of raw material, such as plants or minerals. Financial businesses include banks and other companies that generate profit through investment and management of capital. Information businesses generate profits primarily from the resale of intellectual property and include movie studios...

Developing Your Empowering People

...Developing Your Empowering People It’s very true that in many companies or organizations managers delegate responsibilities to other team members due to his or her own increasing responsibilities to be shouldered. A correct or we can say right person has to be identified and clearly mention their job requirements allowing them to participate and also inform other members about the change. In the example “practicing the skill” Anne has delegated a project to putting together new departmental procedures manual by the end of the month to Mr. Ricky Lee. Since Ricky is already working on another project he asks Anne if this project could be delegated to Bill Harmon. Bill Harmon is working in this company for the past 3 years. Hence Anne approves Bill Harmon being reassigned as far as Bill knows the parameters of the project and what needs to be expected for the completion of this project. Now Ricky is preparing for his meeting with Bill regarding the assignment to be reassigned. It is very important to understand the capability of completing the project. Anne knew that Ricky was capable of completing the project given to him as Ricky believed that Bill was capable. Here Ricky did not analyze what Bill might be working on as Anne did not realize what Ricky might be working on. If there could be any alternate possibility of Ricky and Bill teaming up and complete the project of putting the procedures manual together, could cut down time by the work being divided among the two. I think...

Sonic Highways Evaluation

...Vanessa Zsorey Dr. McCort College Comp 11 December 2015 Sonic Highways A band lasting as long as twenty years in the music industry with their original sound not suffering is a rarity. The Foo Fighters, led by the legendary Dave Grohl, are magnificent rockers who throughout two decades, continue to stay relevant in many ways. Throughout these twenty years they have released nine albums, each of which contained some of the biggest alternative rock hits of all time. Though they may not be riding the radio waves constantly or may only appeal to a shrinking audience, their craft has never once suffered. Their newest album, Sonic Highways, is pure proof that the Foo Fighters continuously try to push themselves out of their comfort zones in order to remain interesting to their fans. Sonic Highways was the most recent project the Foo Fighters have put out and the most creative of the past eight albums. The process to create this album was far more in depth and unique compared to the traditional methods. Typically, when a band decides they want to record, they find the closest studio that is in their price range and is the best quality necessary to fit the project. Mixing the recordings has gotten incredibly easy in recent times, where all that is really necessary is the ProTools program. With Protools, any errors can easily be cleaned and corrected, then moved on to the master CD and sent off to be pressed. A decade ago, recording and mixing were not nearly as simple or cheap...

Furthermore, Stolpestad seems to be genuine depressed as he says to himself “this is your life, Stolpestad” which shows that Stolpestad’s not where he wants to be in life as he has to end the sentence white “Stolpestad” as if he was not listening to himself. “As if you have seen or imagined or been through all of this before, or will be through it all again” The fact that Stolpestad feels like he has experienced things that he haven’t even tried yet, shows how much he has given up on life. Stolpestad’s sad view on life probably is a mix of his life going in circles, and the fact that he is constantly experiencing unpleasant things that just repeats and repeats itself throughout his life: “Your whole life spent along the same sad streets (..) as you pull around the house, as if you’ve seen or imagined or been through all of this before, or will be through it all again, over and over”. John Mayer

...music learned how to play several instruments by the inspiration of others. Mayer loved music, especially blues as can be heard from all his songs in which they all share a melancholic tune. As a young man in high school one of his first gigs was at a local blues bar with a band he had been currently been a part of. Although he only played guitar at the time Mayer was still songwriting. He learned how to write after being hospitalized at the age of 17 with a mental issue even though his illness was destroying his body his creativity kept flowing allowing him to find his newfound passion, songwriting. All these action leading to his first debut of his album in 2001 “Room for Squares” in which he would receive Grammy nominations for the song “Your body is a wonderland” and the public eye would be drawn towards Mayer. After this Mayer would release many albums and singles that would lead to the fame he has today. In my opinion, John Mayer’s music is one of a kind and truly beautiful all holding a deep message leaving for the listener to interpret in however which way they feel. Furthermore, out of all of Mayer’s accomplishments “Waiting on the world to change” from the album “Continuum” is one of his best works. This song has a slow tempo like most of his songs on the “Continuum” album. Also, in this song the beats are...
