Question
You are appointed as HR manager of a large size company engaged in the manufacture of “Plastic Water storage tanks”. You have been assigned the job of selection of sales executives for the geographical territory of “Bihar”.
What type and caliber executives you shall recommend to be recruited and selected for such a company keeping in view the nature of the business of the company with special reference to geographical territory? Also what component should be added in their orientation training before actually posting them in different location? Give detailed reason.
Answer
The company is into plastic water tanks manufacturing in Bihar. The sales executives needed for this position must be qualified - graduates and above with specialization in marketing of consumer products. If they are they have a thorough knowledge about water tanks especially they will be able to understand the product traits/features easily and then be able to make the sales pitch in a better manner.
For someone who is an expert in consumer goods business it would be easier to handle all client queries. The executives should have strong communication and selling skills.
As the location is Bihar, the sales executives should have a good hold on the local language of the region (Bhojpuri, Awadhi or Maithili) as English is not understood by
