My aspiration is to pursue a career in diagnostic radiography as it involves putting learnt knowledge into practise and the course is very integrated as it takes a comprehensive view of patients’ problems and places a prominence on application of knowledge and problem solving skills. You are able to see the applicability of what you are learning due to the incorporation of formal learning and clinical work which provides an ideal platform for learning, which interests both my cognitive and practical side. It enabled me to develop critical thinking skills and to see from different perspectives; this will highly benefit the role of a radiographer as it involves the interaction and understanding of patients from various backgrounds and their problems. A level psychology uses methods of critical analysis and empirical investigations to explore the nature-nurture influences on human behaviour. This has enabled me to understand the complexity of mental processes that dictate human actions and has improved my problem solving and analytical skills as it enabled me to put theoretical views into practise, therefore assisting a radiographer when dealing with patients from different backgrounds and age groups and enables them to build rapport.
