...Diet and Exercise Analysis Reynaldo Sanders SCI 241 1 December 2013 Jeff Mundt Diet and Exercise Analysis Submitting the information for the Supper tracker was difficult but eye opening. When I had to submit the information I had to do it per single item or as individual ingredients to one meal. This can be difficult if you ate a lot of fast food such as the case for me. I ate out a lot while my wife and daughter went home so the results of the tracker was somewhat startling. I noticed that my diet revolved around a lot of processed foods, preservatives and empty calories. Also this food was not as filling as say the steak I ate on Friday. My eating habits over the last week involved way more fast food than I was used to. Most times I would only eat it sporadically throughout the week but while my wife was out of town I ate out on a daily. I cannot sustain this type of eating as it can be costly both financially and health wise. Based on the website I knew that I was eating more fats than anyone should eat in a week. I know that I have to change from that eating style to more fruits and vegetables for snacks. Another issue is that I did not exercise over the three days that I had covered. I had already said that I wanted to get up in the mornings before work and job but this is a confirmation of some changes that need to be made. Based on the six classes of nutrients (water, protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals). Based on my current diet...

...Healthy Eating, Nutrition, and Exercise Plan Adrienne Mezyk University of Phoenix Maintaining a healthy and balanced diet is extremely important for the body. When a person maintains a healthy diet, the body receives the proper nutrients that it needs to keep the body strong. Nutrients help the brain and nervous system, immune system, and it helps reduce the risk of heart disease and other non-infectious diseases. With a proper diet, a person must also exercise. Exercise is just as important as maintaining a proper diet. Regular exercise improves the quality of life. It can reduce stress; helps a person sleep better, and can help make you feel and look younger. The most important thing that exercise does is, it can reduce the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and even some cancers. During my first week of my nutrition class, the instructor asked me to participate in a three-day diet analysis. I was to keep track of all of the foods that I had consumed in those three days. At the end of the three days, I had realized that I was nowhere near of having a proper diet. I was eating food that was high in sodium and low in dairy, fruit, vegetables, and grain. I also noticed that I was eating a lot empty calories. I just recently took another three-day analysis and the only difference that I noticed was that my calorie intake was much lower than the previous analysis and I am eating less during each meal. I am still nowhere near consuming the proper amount of...

...Diet Analysis For this three day diet analysis project I wanted to eat as I normally would and be honest about all that I ate, to analyze not only what and how much I was eating, but also to see how healthy my diet really is. By doing so I can see if any of my diet choices are putting me at risk for certain health diseases, and what changes can be made to make my diet healthier. After analyzing my diet, I would say I am fairly healthy, though I am out of the target range in a few areas. My profile calculated from my weight and height indicates that I have a BMI of 30.5. This is considered to be obese; the healthy range is anywhere between 18.5-25. This was reassuring to hear because I am not happy at my current weight, and would like to make major changes to return to my desire healthy weight. The basic Bar graph report compared my intake values to the recommended intake values for my age, gender and activity level; overall, the comparative bar charts showed that for most of the values, I was close to the recommended amounts. However, a few nutrients that I was over consuming were protein, saturated fat, cholesterol, and vitamins B2 and B12. Other than cholesterol, all the consumption values for the other nutrients were at 200% or more. For vitamin B2 and B12, this was not too concerning, because no upper limit for these vitamins have been set yet, for toxic side effects from these vitamins have yet to be documented. The high levels of saturated fats and cholesterol in...

...John Monaghan 11/9/2009 Nutrition Diet Analysis In life, many people participate in various daily events and activities that help them enjoy being who they are. People may enjoy getting together with friends, going to the mall, going to an amusement park or simply finding relaxation in nature. However, a big part of everyone’s life is of course eating and many people find pleasure in doing so. Eating is a very enjoyable and delectable must for everyone but should be done so, like everything in life, in a smart and intelligent way. Being smart and perceptive when eating is a large part of nutrition. Throughout the Diet Analysis Project, I was able to analyze and inspect my diet to examine what I was eating, what types of nutrients I was getting and how much exercise I was participating in over a three day period. Through this three-day period, two of the days were back to back and the last was a weekend day. I then compared all aspects with my recommended levels of nutrients for my dietary recommended intake and the calories burned through exercise versus my calories consumed through what I was eating. I needed to ensure the nutrients I was getting would allow a good fit for staying healthy and reaching, but not overextending, my needed nutrient levels. I found some very interesting facts that pertained to my diet that were good and then some that needed work and serious altering. Some main nutrients in which I am at risk for deficiency include: dietary fiber; water;...

...Eating, Nutrition and Exercise Plan Bryan Clayton SCI/241 January 26, 2013 Angela Pendergast Healthy Eating, Nutrition and Exercise Plan In a comparison of my current three day diet analysis to that of the one I completed in week one shows that my eating habits have declined. In week one I was eating six and a half ounces of grains per day now I am at half an ounce of whole grains which is well under and five and a half ounces of refined grains which is a little over the target amount per day. In week one I was eating two cups of vegetables per day, in the current analysis I only ate three quarters of a cup. During this week’s analysis I did not eat any fruits and in week one I ate half a cup. In week one I consumed one and a quarter cups of dairy over the three days in the current analysis I consumed one cup over the three day period. In week one I ate four ounces of protein during the current analysis I ate three ounces of protein. My current analysis shows that I did not consume any oils in week one I consumed one ounce. By looking at the two analysis’ I found that I still need to improve my eating habits so that I can get the nutrients needed to live a healthy life. I need to eat healthier snacks, eat more protein, dairy and grains. I need to limit the amount of sweets that I consume. My diet still lacks the amount of protein, fruits, vegetables, grains and dairy that I need to consume during a day. My exercise results show that I am...

If you are obese people don’t realize how it affects your health and how sick it can really make you and that’s why we need programs to get people educated on what they can do to keep themselves healthy from getting sick. Children are on the rise of being obese and they are the number one group that is being affected. If the child is over weight we need to teach the parents as well how to eat right and exercise wit h your kids so that they wont be obese and at the same time you can be a roel model because if they see there parents then they will do what there parents are doing as well. The parents play a big role because they rely on them to guide them and tell them what to do and if you don’t do that then that could be a reason they could be obese as well. Obesity Obesity is on the rise and it went up 1.1% and two point four million people have been added to ranking in just the past two years. About seventy two million adults are now obese in the U.S and climing. (Doheny, 2005-2010). Eating is a very enjoyable and delectable for everyone but should be done so, like everything in life, in a smart and intelligent way. Being smart and perceptive when eating is a large part of nutrition. Throughout the Diet Analysis Project, I was able to analyze and inspect my diet to examine what I was eating, what types of nutrients I was getting and how much exercise I was participating in over a seven day period. I found some very interesting facts that was relative to my diet that were good and then some that needed work and serious altering. Especially considering that my overall physical activity has increased lately, because of the fact that I started boxing. Which that itself takes a very dedicated and serious diet. Some main nutrients in which I am at risk for deficiency include: dietary fiber; water; vitamin B6; Folate; vitamin C; vitamin D; vitamin A (RAE); vitamin A (IU); vitamin E; magnesium; potassium and zinc. Obviously some of these are much closer to satisfying about seventy percent of my daily needs than others. The diet in which I recorded is very accurate as to my typical diet at this point in my life. Sometimes I may have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning or have a glass of water at dinner, which would obviously raise some of these values like the water nutrient and with oatmeal, my B vitamin values would increase. Some of these lacking percentages may be a real deficiency and...

...Three day diet analysis SCI/241 11/5/2012 Staying healthy is a hard thing to do, especially when you do not really have the time or motivation to pay attention to what you eat. I have a habit of buying and eating a lot of frozen foods, which includes frozen pizzas, beer battered fish filets, Mac and cheese, and garlic bread. I also cook some boxed dinners like hamburger or tuna helper to save time on cooking. In my daily diet there are usually not a lot of fruits and vegetables in my daily diet, unless there is some kind of tomato sauce or side’s corn or mixed vegetables. When I compared the three day analysis I found out that I do not have much of a pattern in my daily diet. Sometimes I eat a large amount of grain and other times I may eat the right amount of veggies. There has been a steady amount of bad fats in my diet and this plays a huge role in why I am a little overweight. I consumed 1738 calories in a day; my diet is not at all what the Pyramid recommends. I consumed: 1 ½ ounces of grains and the target is 6 ounces, 1 ¾ cups of vegetables and the target is 2 ½ cups, no fruit and the target was 1 ½ cups, ¾ cups of dairy and the target is 3 cups, and 2 ounces of proteins and the target is 5 ounces. My diet has more fat than recommended and I have...

...Eating Healthy, Nutrition and Exercise Plan Final Project Jayme A. Perales SCI/241 September 15, 2013 Venessa Lee Eating Healthy, Nutrition and Exercise Plan Final Project Over the past nine weeks we have learned what it takes for our bodies to become healthy and maintain that level of healthiness. Our body needs a lot more then exercise to be considered healthy. There are six macro nutrients that we must include in our diet on a daily basis; protein, carbohydrates, lipids, water, vitamins and minerals. These six nutrients will provide energy for our body to perform its daily functions ("What Is A Nutrient?", 2013).. Being physically fit and healthy means that we must incorporate a well-balanced diet that includes all nutrients and daily exercise regimen, if we are missing a piece of the puzzle we will be off balanced causing some sort of negativity in our life. Diet plays a major role in the outcome of living a healthier lifestyle. Whatever we chose to consume on a daily basis will definitely affect our weight and overall health eventually. Depending on the size of individual, sex and amount of physical activity will reflect how many calories a person should intake to function properly. I am a 29 year old man, who is pretty active in the gym and recreational sports so the tracker suggested a 2800 calorie per day diet. I would never come close to the suggested calories per day because I am a bariatric patient. I normally consume around 1,000 to 1,300 calories per...
