...People all throughout the world are still inspired by Selena Quintanilla's legacy even after her passing. Selena experiences disrespect when shopping because of her appearance and ethnicity. In relation to Patricia's story, Debbie Martin begins to bully her on her first day of school only because of her race, even if they eventually become friends. At the beginning of the movie Selena, there is a scene where Los Dinos, a band, gets rejected just because of their ethnicity, which isn't fair because they could perfectly sing just like any other American band. Connecting that to Prisoner B-3087, Yanek was treated inhumanely by other people of the same nationality but with different religions. Overall, you shouldn't judge someone based on their race or appearance, and treat everyone with respect....

My little brothers and sisters were hungry and asked me for bread. At First I earned the bread by working hard all day. But somehow the times were hard and the work fell away. I could get no more work.” “That night the weather was bitter cold and my little brothers and sisters were crying, shivering and craving for food. ...Fear is something that everybody has. Even if theyre characters in a book/story. Some people are afriad of snakes, spiders, death, the dark, sharks and way more. In “The Colomber” by Dino Bizzatti and “Poison” by Roald Dahl, it talks about fear, dreams, and racism. It is obvious that there are many types of conflict in stories. However, in “The Colomber” and “Poison” there are numerous amounts of both internal and external examples of conflict. First, in the story, “The Colomber” by Dino Bizzatti, the conflict is internal. It is Stefanos fear of the colomber, it limits him from following his dream of sailing the seven seas like his father did. It develops by the fact that Stefano is avoiding the shark, even when it keeps following him around whenever and wherever he goes to sail. However, it resolves by Stefano facing his fear and confronting the shark. Then, the next conflict is external. It is Stefano vs. Nature, also known as, the colomber. It is developed by the colomber choosing stefano as his next “victim” and following him around and not giving up until he finds him. Although it resolves by Stefano going into a sail boat and waiting for the colomber, to confront it, all the colomber wanted to do was give him a speacial pearl. Now on to another story, “Poison” by Roald Dahl. The first conflict is external. It is Harry vs. The krait (person vs. Nature). It develops by the krait slithering on Harry’s stomach while...

...researcher an understanding of the underlying reasons, opinions and motivation about the problem. Data collection methods include the use of focus group, interviews and observation. Quantitative research, on the other hand, aims at generating numerical data about a problem and then transforms the data into useable statistics. It uses measurable data collected through surveys, telephone interviews, and online polls to come up with facts and unearth patterns in research (Hale & Napier, 2013 p.15). Research study "Stigma: the feelings and experiences of 46 people with mental illness" took a qualitative approach. For the research, the approach was right because the researcher aimed at describing the relationship between stigma and mental illness (Dinos, 2014, p. 176-181). The approach will help the research get opinions from the focus group and hence be able to establish whether there is a relationship. Moreover, the approach is correct since it will help the researcher generate a theory about stigma and mental illness. The research “What Causes Civil Wars?” has utilized the use of quantitative analysis (Dixon, 2009, p. 707-735). For the researcher to establish what causes war he/she needs to establish the many reasons of war and then rank them to come up with the idea that has caused war in many cases. The use of quantitative research will help the researcher find a causal relationship and use the results on a wider platform. The strategy used should be able to accommodate the various...

...central characters of Abraham Quintanilla and Selena Quintanilla. The film starts off with a performance in the Astros stadium which marks the end of Selena Quintanilla’s life, but goes back in time to her father's youth in Corpus Christi, Texas during 1961. Abraham Quintanilla was in a trio with two other Mexican Americans and together they formed the musical group, The Dinos. This trio sang barbershop music and when viewers first met them, they were excited of getting their first major break in a Anglo-American nightclub. When Abraham Quintanilla and his bandmates arrive to the club on the beach, before they can even enter to audition, the owner turns them away because he initially believed their ‘exotic’ name was Italian and states, “I can’t have that in my club, this club is whites only.” The rejection of white Americans leads to the Dinos turning to play music for Mexican Americans and Abraham states, “nobody’s kicking us out of this joint, guys. After all, the Tejanos are Mejicanos like us.” With the belief that they had finally found acceptance within the Mexican American community of Texas, the Dinos, also believe that their choice of music will be accepted but quickly receive backlash for playing their “gringo music” and must leave the nightclub because of the riot they commenced. Abraham Quintanilla’s experiences of blatant racism and the sense of unbelonging in two communities he felt apart of, led him to be very protective of his daughter, Selena’s rising career...

D E C I S I O N HERMOSISIMA, JR., J.: The corporate mask may be lifted and the corporate veil may be pierced when a corporation is just but the alter ego of a person or of another corporation. Where badges of fraud exist; where public convenience is defeated; where a wrong is sought to be justified thereby, the corporate fiction or the notion of legal entity should come to naught. The law in these instances will regard the corporation as a mere association of persons and, in case of two corporations, merge them into one. Thus, where a sister corporation is used as a shield to evade a corporations subsidiary liability for damages, the corporation may not be heard to say that it has a personality separate and distinct from the other corporation. The piercing of the corporate veil comes into play. This special civil action ostensibly raises the question of whether the National Labor Relations Commission committed grave abuse of discretion when it issued a break-open...
