Discuss BP Connects revenue stream prior to and after the introduction of BP Connect
BP Connects primary revenue source was gas and car wash. However, in 2001 BP Connects convenient store was opened featuring the trademark ,"Wild Bean Café," the BP Connects sport a sleek design and suntiles on the top of the gas station. In addition, the BP Connects are also known for having a kiosk offering internet connection. With the edition of the BP connect Stores, BP connects primary resource of profit revenue became the convenient store and the car wash. (Maclean, 2010)
Identify the needs that BP Connect is meeting for the customer?
According to The BP executive on the video, research showed that most Americans eat breakfast on the go; by creating the Wild Bean Café and offering free WiFi, they are ensuring that customers have one stop shop experience and return daily, instead of the weakly gas fill up. (Maclean, 2010)
Discuss why BP changed its product offering?
The profit margin in gas according to the BP executive is very low. Customers only need to fill up gas weekly or bi-weekly. BP wanted consistent contact with their customers by offering convenient store type of products, a café, and creating a separate brand that would bring the customers in daily. (Maclean, 2010)
Location is an important variable for retailers. Discuss how BP Connects location increased or decreased the likelihood of an exchange
BP has the best locations. Most of the gas stations are on intersections with lots of traffic. Therefore, the location increases the exchange. The customer comes in for gas and ends up with coffee and other fattening impulse items which have higher mark-up than gas.

...3G Unit-1: GPRS & EDGE General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service available to users of GSM mobile phones. It is often described as "2.5G", that is, a technology between the second (2G) and third (3G) generations of mobile telephony. It provides moderate speed data transfer, by using unused TDMA channels in the GSM network. Originally there was some thought to extend GPRS to cover other standards, but instead those networks are being converted to use the GSM standard, so that is the only kind of network where GPRS is in use. GPRS is integrated into GSM standards releases starting with Release 97 and onwards. First it was standardised by ETSI but now that effort has been handed onto the 3GPP. GPRS is different from the older Circuit Switched Data (or CSD) connection included in GSM standards releases before Release 97 (from 1997, the year the standard was feature frozen). In CSD, a data connection establishes a circuit, and reserves the full bandwidth of that circuit during the lifetime of the connection. GPRS is packet-switched which means that multiple users share the same transmission channel, only transmitting when they have data to send. This means that the total available bandwidth can be immediately dedicated to those users who are actually sending at any given moment, providing higher utilization where users only send or receive data intermittently.
