In this debate, two parties are arguing whether people are rational and reasons behind. The for side assert that people are rational by first giving the definition in economics of rationality. And the against side attack the point by giving examples and arguments.

Debater from the for side put forward that, in the objective layer, as long as people do a cost-benefit analysis before making decisions, that means people are rational, which means that people do not make decisions out of nothing but after careful thought. In the subjective layer of rationalities, different people make decisions based on their own knowledge and background. And they admit that exist constraints to information that people owned.

Debater from the against side assumes the information that people owns is a circle, where there is only limited information. The real information is a lager circle that contains the limited circle. In this way, there are many limitations of people, and they cannot actually control complete information. Therefore people are not able to make sensible decisions and not rational. They give an example of going to university to show that individuals are irrational.

But according to the for side, it does not take full information for people to be rational. What matters is that if people have the act of thinking and analyzing before taking actions. And we can’t tell that rational or not only depends on decision making process. Additionally, they mention completeness. Because what we want to see is actually what we want to see, and they disagree that it is irrational when CPU makes decisions.

The against side say that people’s decision making process is too easy to be affected by other people. And it is the usual case for people that they can’t be rational for long. The most important thing is that the criteria for rationality is not based on the analysis before

As stated by Leo, Hoggett, & Sweeting (2012), transactions undertaken by an entity and other events affecting the entity have two separate effects, which are current and future tax consequences. This is because accrual principal is applied on accounting treatment whereas income tax treatment uses the cash flow method. For accounting treatment, accounting profit is profit or loss for a period before deducting tax expense whereas for income tax treatment, taxable income described as gross income minus any allowable deduction. Difference between accounting and tax treatments lead to taxable temporary differences and deductible temporary differences. Discussion was carried out to determine how exploration and development cost create a deferred tax liability, analyse the argument presented by the directors in view of the AASB 112 and discuss the infromation ultility to readers of annual report of including or excluding deferred tax liability. 2.0 Discussion 2.1 Exploration and Development...

Bofa Annual Analysis

...Bank of America 2010 Annual Report Maggie Ballantyne Professor Adams Accounting 100 2/26/2012 Bank of America December 31, 2010 Abstract This paper analyzes Bank of America’s 2010 annual report. It discusses the main sections, key factors influencing the financial performance, the company’s primary assets, and how the management characterizes the internal controls of the company. A company’s annual report shows its stockholders the corporation’s financial statements and a summary of the operations over a twelve month time period. I chose Bank of America’s 2010 annual report for this paper. There are a few key sections that when analyzing an annual report you want to mainly focus on, and those main sections include, the auditor’s report, financial statements, the managers discussion, and notes to the financial statements. Each section will be discussed in this paper along with an analysis of the key factors that influenced the company’s financial performance, the company’s primary assets, and an explanation of how the management characterizes the internal control environment of the company. First, I want to analyze the financial statements, such as the income statement and the balance sheet. During 2010 Bank of America bought a mortgage company and a global card service company which caused the corporation to take a net income loss for the financial year. On the income statement, the home loans portion of the corporation had a loss of 8.9 billion dollars while...
