...Proper research includes multiple components that are complicated. In particular, research that involves quantitative analysis, requires more concerted effort and detailed studies. Even before the research is even conducted, there must be a lot of prior planning. One of the vital part of any research is hypothesis testing and components. Hypothesis is a probably, reasonable study that bases estimates on elements that are evaluated. Hypothesis testing in particular involves the use of two variable and looks at the relationship between them. The research variables that I decided to analyze were the number of surgeries that were performed and the amount of “bad debt” expenses. Out of these chosen variables, the research question that I made up was “Does a reduction of the number of surgeries correlate with bad debt reduction?” The null hypothesis states that there is no correlation between the two variables and in the above aforementioned is marked by Ho: μ = Reducing the amount of surgeries performed in Virginia Hospitals reduces the amount of bad debt expenses. On the other hand, the alternative hypothesis proposes the opposite and in this case, the amount of surgeries performed does affect the second variable, “bad debt expenses” (Hawkes & Marsh 2005). Alternative hypothesis can also be directional through the statement of reducing the number of surgeries will decrease the debt expenses. Another part of hypothesis testing is that of type 1 vs. type 2 errors. Type 1 errors...

...Introduction This week study module is all about my learning styles and how best I make use of my ability to learn, as a student on the MBA program. It is true that I might have a distinctive learning style. This particular learning style might have an impact on how well I am coping in my studies. It is particular true that some might learn best through audial information and others through visuals. Even so, there exist many different theories that were presented to us this week that describes how we as students prefer to learn best. Preferred Learning Style Carl Jung (1875 – 1961) developed a theory on learning style that categorises people in terms of different learning personality patterns. He highlighted two important processes that are important in learning, 1) how we take in information and 2) what we do with that information once it is in our brain. He called the first perception and the second judgement. This theory led to the ‘Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator’ (MBTI). However Kolb (2005) believe our learning styles comes from ‘genetics, our life experiences and demand from our current environment’ (Kolb, 2005). Four different learning styles were also developed and the theory of experiential learning and learning style inventory. In reading the four different styles by Kolb, I can easily associate my learning to ‘The Accommodator’. This style can be attributed to those strong in experience and experimentation. I am a doer and this style is for those that enjoy doing...

...Clifton Gray Jr. CJ105 – Criminology Professor Paul Ehrler Course Project – Psychological and Psychiatric Theories November 30, 2014 Mille-Motte Online What is Criminology? I. Introduction II. What is Criminology? III. History of Criminology IV. Types of Criminology Jobs V. Conclusion What Is Criminology? It seems that criminology has become a major part in the role of criminal law that deals with the criminal justice system. In most cases it have dealt with applied disciplines and those findings have impacted in a variety of avenues such as in legislators or in probations offices. Defining criminology is very simple it is the scientific study of interconnection, corrections, and the prevention of crime. Historical Perspective Their principal aims were to mitigate legal penalties, to compel judges to observe the principle of nulla poena sine lege (Latin: “due process of law”), to reduce the application of capital punishment, and to humanize penal institutions (Mannheim, 2014). They were moderately successful, but, in their desire to make criminal justice more “just,” they tried to construct rather abstract and artificial equations between crimes and penalties, ignoring the personal characteristics and needs of the individual criminal defendant (Mannheim, 2014). Moreover, the object of punishment was primarily retribution and secondarily deterrence, with reformation lagging far behind (Mannheim, 2014). Criminology has been around since...

...Assignment 1: World View Chart Writing Assignment Tanisha Hayden Professor Sean-David McGoran World Religions 212 December 14, 2015 In the course of recent weeks there has been a lot of information about how diverse religions handle numerous themes, for example, human instinct, if there is a God or divine beings, great and detestable, and different ceremonies that are imperative to perform. This paper will take a gander at all the distinctive religions that we have concentrated on and directed through the semester, yet we will be looking at one particular classification and that is of the Afterlife in these religions. The one point that I discovered the most fascinating and illuminating is the way diverse religions handle the considered passing and if there is life after death. Religion all through history has tried to lighten this worry by clarifying what happens after death while also working it into the teachings of good, malevolence, mortality, and salvation. In spite of the fact that there is a wide assortment of convictions they can be contracted down to two focal conviction designs, the thought of resurrection or the thought of the individual heading off to an alternate other worldly plane, for example, the thought of Heaven and Hell. select one (1) category from the completed World View Chart. Provide a rationale for choosing this category. The category that I thought was most intriguing was the views of the afterlife. The reason this subject was selected was to better...

...Review “Second Treatise of Government” in Chapter 6. Please respond to the following: John Locke’s Two Treatises of Government were written to defend armed resistance to the English king by English subjects in the years preceding the Whig revolution, the Glorious Revolution of 1689 (as it’s called). Involved in plots, Locke fled from England to Holland in 1683 and stayed there until 1689. The First Treatise is an attack on the theory of absolute monarchy defended by Sir Robert Filmer. The Filmer theory traces the rights of the monarch to the establishment of monarchical power in Adam (the first man of the Bible) by God. This absolute authority to rule then gets passed along down to the present king of England. So the king is answerable only to God and the subjects are obligated to obey the king’s commands come what may, says Filmer. * Explain what, according to Locke, gives a person their right to property. As stated in the textbook, " everyman has a property in his own Person. This nobody has any right to but himself. The labor of his body, and the work of his hands, we may say, are properly his. Whatsoever then he removes out of the state that nature hath provided, and left it in, he hath mixed his labor with, and joined to it something that is his own, and thereby makes it his property. It being by him removed from the common state nature placed it in, it hath by this labor something annexed to it, that excludes the common right of other men" (p.209, Halbert...
