...Production, Manufacturing and Logistics Factors which influence decision making in new product evaluation q Muammer Ozer * Department of Management, City University of Hong Kong, 83 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon, Hong Kong Received 16 October 2001; accepted 7 November 2003 Available online 31 December 2003 Abstract New product development is indeed very important for companies. However, developing new products is a risky and uncertain process. In order to reduce the risks and uncertainties, companies need to evaluate their new product initiatives carefully and make accurate decisions. Although the outcome of a new product evaluation decision can be influenced by the environmental uncertainties that are beyond a companyÕs control, companies can successfully improve the accuracy of their new product evaluation decisions. This article presents an integrated framework for understanding how various factors affect decision making in new product evaluation and provides guidelines for reducing their negative impacts on new product decisions. The results indicate that the quality of new product evaluation decisions is affected by four major sets of factors, namely the nature of the task, the type of individuals who are involved in the decisions, the way the individualsÕ opinions are elicited and the way the opinions are aggregated. How to Write a Literature Review

...How to write a literature review What is a literature review? The aim of a literature review is to show your reader (your tutor) that you have read, and have a good grasp of, the main published work concerning a particular topic or question in your field. This work may be in any format, including online sources. It may be a separate assignment, or one of the introductory sections of a report, dissertation or thesis. In the latter cases in particular, the review will be guided by your research objective or by the issue or thesis you are arguing and will provide the framework for your further work. It is very important to note that your review should not be simply a description of what others have published in the form of a set of summaries, but should take the form of a critical discussion, showing insight and an awareness of differing arguments, theories and approaches. It should be a synthesis and analysis of the relevant published work, linked at all times to your own purpose and rationale. According to Caulley (1992) of La Trobe University, the literature review should: • compare and contrast different authors' views on an issue • group authors who draw similar conclusions • criticise aspects of methodology • note areas in which authors are in disagreement • highlight exemplary studies • highlight gaps in research • show how your study relates to previous studies • show how your study relates to the literature in general • conclude by summarising what the literature says The...

Presented at the beginning of the thesis, it is likely the first substantive description of your work read by an external examiner. The abstract is the last section to write. An abstract is not merely an introduction in the sense of a preface, preamble, or advance organizer that prepares the reader for the thesis. In addition to that function, it must be capable of substituting for the whole thesis when there is insufficient time and space for the full text. To preserve visual coherence, you may wish to limit the abstract for your doctoral dissertation to one double-spaced page. Points to note: Length should be ~ 1-2 paragraphs, approx. 400 words. This handout discusses the reasons for writing a literature review and presents its various requirements. It examines what a literature review is, as well as what it is not; it distinguishes between the literature review and the annotated bibliography. Like many academic writing assignments, there is not one universal standard for writing a literature review. Its format can differ from discipline to discipline and from assignment to assignment. There is, however, an overall structure that is commonly used across various disciplines, and this format is examined in more detail. The handout concludes with some helpful “tips and tricks” for preparing a literature review. Students and parents view these assessments as a way to out-do their classmates and compete to see who is able to get the highest grade. They don’t view these assessments as a way to know if they understand the things being taught. Assessments are created to serve a purpose. They help diagnose learning disabilities, identify a student in need, and help the district meet their yearly goals Technology to Facilitate Ongoing Efforts to Assess Student Learning Teachers are able to use technology in many different ways. Also summarize assessment results. Then analyze how the scores play a part with relationships and career choices. The profile of my features displays my personal preference and is consistently decisive. I tend to get work done under stressful conditions. I show a lot of positive feedback as a manager. Being able to work long hours and with standing prejudices and biases situation is one of my strong points (Schermerhorn, Osborn, Uhl-Bien & Hunt, 2012). My primary mission as a leader is change.
