When I first came to Philadelphia, I found that this city is full of diversity. From the people, buildings to the food, they are so diverse and have a lot of variety. Therefore, people can get a taste of foreign culture and food without splurging on international travel. As of 2016, Philadelphia’s total population is 1,567,872 and 13.1% of the population is foreign born (US Census Bureau). Study indicated that racial composition was associated with the changes in food outlet distributions (Chen & Wang, 2014). This project will map international markets and grocery stores to incorporate foreign born population data in Philadelphia.
