Marriage, such a happy time for those who feel that they will spend the rest of their lives together in sickness and in health till death do them part. Our societies norms have change significantly in the last 30 years; women can work, fewer children are being born, and it is normal to get divorced and remarried multiple times. In todays day and age people get married, grow apart and divorce almost as easily as learning to ride a bike. Although we see more and more couples divorcing, and have seem to become immune to the idea of getting a divorce I think you would agree with me that divorce is completely and utterly a mess of a situation. It causes emotion distress on everyone involved and huge financial issues.

In 2013 it was found that 48% of all Canadian marriages end in divorce (Feldstein, 2013). When people get divorced their overall demeanor changes. In this term paper I will discuss the relation between divorces, and the downfall it has on the economy. My hypothesis is that divorces cause a decrease in the economy forcing the government to intervene to stop us from being put into a recession. I do believe that divorce has a huge impact on the economy and the answer to a successful economy is a happy marriage. Those with a happy marriage have a happy demeanor, which leads to a greater work ethic, that in turn leads to a higher income, which allows them to put more money into circulation and allowing our economy to
