Sorry, I couldn’t attend the seminar. That will rarely happen, but I did listen to the recorded seminar. In the seminar I learned the writing process. Three important topics to me would have to be free writing, prewriting and brainstorming. All three was very interesting and helpful in writing documents. Prewriting and brainstorming are two of the three I have used in the past in my writings. I would prefer brainstorming, because I rather do bullet points. I pull more to an outline than just all bullet point, because it basically lays out your essay for you. Prewriting is more like drafting to me. I never used freewriting before into this unit. I used it doing my discussion question and it was very fun and challenging. Setting a timer and just writing is very helpful discovering things about your topic. It’s more like a brain game. I will definitely be using this in my future writing before I begin my brainstorming. I really enjoyed the seminar. Some other writing techniques I found that was useful and I would use in the future would be questioning and talking. I feel they are tied together and are very similar. Writing down questions and answering them before starting your writing is very useful. Even if you write down questions and go ask someone them same questions and see their response. Talking to someone is very useful, just getting their opinions and comments on the topic you’re writing on. I will use both of these methods in my Unit 4 assignment to learn something new. My topic is on characteristics of entrepreneur. My aunt is an entrepreneur so, I’m going to writing some questions down and go ask and see what is her response and opinion on the topic.
