...Battle For Your Mind (3 of 8) Series: The Battle Is The Lord's Dr. Stan Coffey II Corinthians 10:3-5 I. SATAN'S DESIRE II. SATAN'S DEVICES III. SATAN'S DOORS IV. SATAN'S DEFEAT It is good to see you. If you have a copy of the word of God, I want you to take God's word and turn to Second Corinthians Chapter 10 and tonight we want to continue to think about the battle is the Lord's. We are thinking about spiritual warfare. I don't know about you but I am in a battle. Amen? I suspect you are too if you are a believer. Somebody said if you hadn't met the devil, you are probably going the same direction he is. Amen? So if you are going toward God, you are going to have the devil try to stand between you and God and not the devil literally but demonic influence, demons. We studied last seek how to overcome the devil and we spoke about that and we spoke about how Jesus had vanquished the devil. The devil has been vanquished but the devil has not been banished. That is, the Bible says that God now has given us authority over him and power over him but he is not yet in the lake of fire. There is no need for any believer to be defeated by Satan because the Bible says we have been given the victory, the victory has been won and we don't fight for victory, we fight from victory. But nevertheless, we are still in a battle. Now look at Second Corinthians 10 and verse 3, "FOR THOUGH WE WALK IN THE FLESH, WE DO NOT WAR AFTER THE FLESH. (FOR THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE...

...Summary: What is ingrained in your head? Whatever is ingrained in your head is what comes out when you face struggles, fears, frustrations. Come and learn how to love God with all your mind! Series: All In Scripture: Matthew 22:34-22:40 (add scripture) Intro: In the middle of a wedding ceremony, a jewelry store manager exchanged rings with his soon-to-be spouse. As he slipped the ring onto his bride’s finger, he said, “With this ring—we guarantee a full refund if the customer is not completely satisfied.” His sales pitch was so deeply ingrained in his mind that the words came out automatically. What’s ingrained in your mind? “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things” (Phil. 4:8). (Kent Crockett, I Once Was Blind But Now I Squint, Chattanooga, TN: AMG Publishers, 2004, 135) We learned last week that all in begins as an issue of the heart. We will see this week that after it affects the heart it inhabits the head. Matthew 22:37 “He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” Let me challenge you with this truth. If the gospel is not being ingrained in your mind it probably hasn’t been engraved on your heart. Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws on their hearts...

...I am a firm believer that a healthy mind promotes a healthy body. I feel this way because without a strong mind, including both your attitude and lifestyle you will never achieve total health. Since the body and mind are connected and emotions play such a large part in determining one’s health status, if you try separating out the mind from the body and how they interact it only makes sense that it would be misleading. For example, if a person lives a healthy life such as, exercise regularly, weight management, eating healthy food and manage a stress free environment they would live a longer life span, then those who live a life style drinking alcohol, smoking, and party. With a healthy mind, we begin to apply health and wellness into our lives, and be able to encouge family, friends or co-workers to do the same. It is very important that we live an healthy life because a healthy mind promotes a healthy way of living. Proper diet and exercise or making the wise choice not to partake excessive caffeine, drugs and alcohol use as well. With a healthy mind, we begin to apply health and wellness into our lives and make conscious decisions in everything we do or choose to participate in. I also believe it is a body-mind connection and it all starts in our head. It is very important that I live my life in a health way such as to minmize the unexpected A healthy mind also promotes a healthy way of living because you are looking at the positives that comes from having a healthy body...

...are fighting your subconscious mind. Perhaps it is time to let your "other mind," your subconscious mind, in on the secret. I was impressed at how quickly “The Secret” took off in the recent past. Mostly everyone I talked to had an opportunity to see the movie and instantly feel a sense of hope that if they could just change the way the see things, “things” would be different in their life. The movie depicts the secret as something simple and something ancient which is not tied to any particular sect or stratification and is available to everyone. While I agree that it is simple and IS available to everyone theoretically, it seems like just watching the movie and from then on experiencing abundance and joy every moment from then on is something...well, something you might see in a movie. What is missing? There is more to change then simply realizing that you have become a magnet for what you don’t want. To simply say “stop thinking this way and start thinking that way” for most of us it a tall order. The reason it is a tall order is that we have taught ourselves how life is in some relative way and changing reality is not something we do very often. It is not as though we don’t “want” to change, but let’s face it, if we don’t believe it will happen or we don’t deserve it will, then “wanting” is not enough. So to answer the question, “what is missing?” will more than likely bring us to what do we really (really, really) believe? That does not ask the question what do we “think” we...

...What are subliminal messages, what do they do and do they work? I listen to positive subliminal messages everyday and have done for some time and I am here to tell you they do work. It is absolutely amazing what you will feel. What they do is send messages to the subconscious mind bypassing the conscious mind. In this way, your conscious mind is not able to be critical of the messages being heard. This is important, especially if you are living your life thinking negative thoughts. Because when you hear a positive message, you may think to yourself, 'that's not true', 'I can't be that person', or 'this won't work'. Therefore, you won't be critical of the positive suggestion and put up a barrier. A positive subliminal message is heard only...

...stop? Some do not comprehend what it is like to have an addiction. To help prevent people from doing anything that can lead into an addiction, schools teach students about addictions; they advise them what to stay away from, so that the students do not become an addict. When a person tries something and gets a thrill out of it, the brain puts this activity into the reward circuit of your mind. Therefore the next time that you partake in this activity your brain tells you that you want more of it. Some people may become addicted, while others do not. This is all because of the way our mind works. For some it’s easier to become addicted to an activity because someone in their family may have had that same addiction, making it easier for them to become addicted. Although people want to stop their drug activity, they simply cannot because their body wants it more than anything, and if they don’t appease the body, they can get sick. After years of the addiction, it is more of an illness than an addiction. Since the addiction is keeping the person feeling their greatest, they are fine, correct? With an addiction, there are always consequences, if you have an a minor addiction to collecting stones, or a major addiction of hard drug use. Addictions cause your mind to think differently, it thinks more about the addiction than anything else. Depending on the addiction, it can destroy your body. The people around you might not want to tolerate you with your addiction, causing your social life...
