...Running head: Jet Copies Case Study 1 JET COPIES CASE STUDY James C. Kessler Strayer University Introduction to Management Science Math 540 Dr. Yaw Kyei January 3, 2013 Jet Copies Case Study 2 Days-to-Repair I typed the name jet copies into the A1 slot. Then I made the letters bold and used the cells section to increase the row height and the column width. I also increased the font size. I then typed in the probability of weekly demand section. Increasing the font size and making it bold. I set up three columns, P(x), cumulative, and repair time. This was taken from the table that was given. Because we need 52 weeks of information I set numbers for 60 weeks, starting with column E6. I then went to G6 and typed in =RAND() to start a random number sequence and hit enter. I then clicked on G6 and right clicked and held down to set up 60 random numbers. I then went to the clipboard section and clicked copy. Then we clicked on F6, then right clicked, then clicked on past special, then clicked on values, then clicked ok to set the values we would use. Then I left clicked on G6, then clicked on delete, then clicked entire column to remove. To develop the probability of breakdowns I had to assume values for P(y). We were given six operating times and given .33 as the highest probability, we then assumed the others with the total equaling 1.00. I then set up the cumulative column, and the operating time to breakdown...

...A Library System 1. Inception We have been asked to build a computer based library system that will handle the bookkeeping aspects of a library and provide user browsing facilities. The first thing to do is to go and find out about the target library or libraries to see what they do now and what they would like to be able to do. We get the following data: 2. Requirements Books and Journals. The library contains both books and journals. It may have several copies of the same book. Some of the books are for short term loans only. All other books may be borrowed by any library member for 3 weeks. Only members of staff may borrow journals. Members of the library can normally borrow up to 6 items at a time, but members of staff may borrow up to 12 items at a time. New books and journals arrive regularly and sometime disposed of; the catalogue needs to be updated. The current year’s journals are sent away to be bound at the end of each year. Borrowing. It is essential that the system keeps track of when books and journals are borrowed and returned. The new system should produce reminders when a book is overdue. It may be desirable to allow users to extend their loans if the book is not reserved. The system enforces the rules for borrowing given above. Browsing: The system should allow users to search for a book on a particular topic or by a particular author etc. The user should then be able to check if the book is on loan and if so to reserve the book. To...

...How I feel about people who copy my concepts, ideas, and even content How do you feel when people copy your ideas, concepts, and content? I know this question evokes mixed reactions. For instance, some people are proud to have their intellectual information copied even though such copying does not credit them. Such people are proud because they like helping people. On the other hand, there are those that are extremely jealous when people copy their ideas, concepts, and contents. To be honest with you, I happen to be in this category. I hate it when people copy my intellectual ideas without seeking my consent. I consider copying my intellectual property as theft. I never come to terms with whatever reason a person can claim for copying my work. I detest when people copy my ideas, concepts and content such that if I were the jury in a suit against them, I consider hanging as the most appropriate judgment. I hate people who copy my intellectual ideas and concepts because they put your ideas as if they are the original people behind the idea. These people who nothing else than to copy paste kill my morale. They kill my enthusiasm to generate new ideas because I know they will copy any new idea I develop and they will not mind passing credit where it is due. However, coming up with new ideas is what I do best. I generate new ideas by default and it is only a matter of time before I come up with a way of catching these thieves. Once is find my ideas copied, I wonder when will there...

...The top producers in Internet marketing insist on the importance in learning copy writing and then point out the lack of interest in others in learning more about it. Copy writing is another skill that can be learned and developed through practice just as the other skills Internet marketers must learn. The reward however, can lead to greater profits by increasing conversion rates and attracting qualified customers. First they must know how to be found, so they "hang out where their customers are" as David Schwind explains. Copy writers make it easy for people looking for their product to find them. A copy writer needs to know who their costumers are, what they are looking for, and how their customers are searching for answers to their questions. This will help them know the right vocabulary to use to...

...Relationship Review ▪ Each time an attribute of one entity type refers to another entity type, some relationship exists. ▪ In ER diagrams, these references should be represented as relationships, rather than attributes. ▪ For example, in the Company database schema, an attribute of employee is the department they work for, rather than representing this information as an attribute of the Employee entity type, it should be represented on a diagram as a relationship between the two entities. ▪ Relationships between entities are represented using a diamond shape. ▪ Relationships are usually given a verb name, which specifies the relationship between two entities. ▪ If we look at the relationship between Employee and Department, an employee works for a department, therefore the relationship would be represented Degree of Relationship Type ▪ The degree of a relationship type is the number of participating entity types. Meaning if the relationship is between two entity types (Employee and Department), then the relationship is binary, or has a degree of two. ▪ If the relationship is between three participating entities, it has a degree of three, and therefore is a ternary relationship. ▪ For example, if we have three entities, Supplier, Project and Part. Each part is supplied by a unique supplier, and is used for a given project within a company; the relationship “Supplies” is a ternary (degree of three) between Supplier, Project and Part, meaning...
