It is very easy to see that social evils occur during everyday. Poverty is one of reasons why people have to do bad things. Everybody needs money to buy food, clothes, house and so on. If the poor cannot make money legally, they have to commit crimes such as stealing, duping and kidnapping. For example, a lovely young teenager who comes from a poor family goes to supermarket. Instead of buying, she steals earrings, clothes. After going out of the supermarket, she can sell those stolen things to buy food. Another reason is greed: when the love for money becomes excessive, money brings evils. When people are greedy for money, they are willing to do dirty business or illegal work to make more money. These people are filthy rich and hold important positions in government or company, but people usually say “Beggar’s beg is bottomless”. They want as much as money as possible and immediately without working hard. Therefore, they accept bribes, evade taxes or do something similar. For instance, in Khanh Hoa province, a Korean investor who wants to build a resort gives seventy thousand dollar to an employee of Department of Investment. Instead denying it, he accepts this money.
Caused by money, evils happen not only in society but also in homes. Home is a peaceful place. However, in some cases, due to money, relatives can do worse things for each other. If parents pass away, relatives want to have their property. Relatives fight against each other to own this property. Moreover, because husband or wife badly needs money, they can break up their marriage. According to Tuoitre Newspaper, there is a story about a man who arrogates to himself his mother’s house. He makes his mother leave her house without giving her any money. Consequently, he sells this house to earn money. Besides, parents also sell their children to get money. Parents and Children have the fresh-and-blood relation, but parents are cold-hearted to sell their kids without mercy. In poor countries, these situations are very similar. For example, there are parents who have many children. They cannot raise all of them, so they decide to sell some of their children. By doing that, they can live well.
Even though evils may result from other causes such as jealousy, madness and so on, money is the main cause. To sum up, the reasons which make people become bad ones is countless. Nevertheless, the main reason is money. Money is just a means for exchanging goods, but it can turn a human into a devil. Because of poverty and endless desire, people are willing to do evil things. They also occur in homes between relatives, parents and children. Therefore, the solution for these problems is a must. The government should make more jobs for the poor, reform the laws and give free education.
