1. Do you think it is ethical for social networks to sell access user information to business for market research and other users? Why or why not ? 1.Spamming - Social Networking Sites can sell one's personal information to anyone who wants to buy it, including spammers and on line predators. Even if the terms of understanding claim that no personal information will be sold, the site can change its policy at any time. social networking sites like Myspace and Bebo are full of spam and scams! Many users receive emails nearly every day from anonymous users asking to date and chat on other websites. It continuously becomes frustrating to receive all these useless spam emails and no solution is being revised. Other Scam is an extra problem for the users. Unfortunately, some scammers trick members and scam them in so many ways to steal their accounts. A ordinary recognized trick could be through a phishing website which looks very similar to Facebook and fools people in believing that they are still on the official Facebook website. Once a member logs in using the email and password, scammers can now access his account and scam his friends, spreading further spam and malware through the website. Fake websites can also steal your bank information if consumers fall prey to their advertisements. If you have never come across a problem like this before, it is your responsibility to avoid such a threat and keep your information secure.
2.Privacy Issues - Endangerment to one's Privacy is one of topmost concern of those using these services. Social Networking Sites require or give a person, the option to provide personal information such one's name, location, and email address. When one provides all this information it can be used for identity theft. Any conman can copy one's information and pretend to be 'You' when engaging in illegal activities. This puts one's safety and security in danger. On needs to cautious as to what information he/she is providing as it can be abused when someone else pretends to be 'You'. For example, they might offer you a job or want to meet up with you just to get your money. This can lead to Cyberstalking, where the stalker uses electronic media such as the Internet to pursue or harass you.

...Case Study: Panasonic and Japan’s Changing Culture Summary This case study focuses on the globalization and change in culture of Panasonic established in Japan in 1920. Japanese culture hasn’t changed but the world around Japan has changed. Panasonic tried very hard to adhere to the values that were already in motion but as the times changed so did Panasonic. Although this was a drastic change it allowed Panasonic to grow. “As the decade progressed, one Japanese firm after another was forced to change its traditional ways of doing business” (Global Business Today, 2011, pp. 126). Globalization played a huge role in the outcome of the Japanese businesses. Questions 1. The triggers of cultural change in Japan during the 1990s were that the generation born after 1964 wasn’t as motivated and grew up in a much richer and prosperous Japan. Another trigger was that the Japanese economy was sucked into a slump. Due to the fact that the companies in Japan were trying to keep their traditions and values, keep their employees happy and maintain good and efficient business caused the companies to suffer. Cultural change is starting to affect traditional values in Japan because it is causing companies to change their values. Companies are no longer following the set of values and folkways from previous years. They are beginning to follow the same rules and regulations of the society. Panasonic was also letting go of employees and modifying the social structure to better...

How Do You Think

...HOW DO YOU THINK MARION HODLE LACKAWANNA COLLEGE ABSTRACT Are you a creative thinker? Can you be inspired to write or draw from a walk through a museum? Can you come up with a few good ideas from just lying in the grass at the park? If this is the way your mind works and how you go about solving problems then you’re a creative thinker. If you get inspirations or some of your best answers by looking up facts, reading up on subjects and linking information you already know to be true, you’re a critical thinker. Critical Thinking Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. It’s a persons ability to engage in independent thinking. They can understand logical concepts between ideas, like linking thoughts. They can identify and construct arguments and detect common mistakes in reasoning over things. Creative thinking involves solving problems systematically. It also includes the identification and importance of ideas. Critical thinking can reflect on a person’s beliefs and values. Critical thinking is not based on how much a person knows. Even if you have a good memory and know a lot of facts it still does not mean you are a good critical thinker. A good critical thinker knows how to use his knowledge to solve problems and seek relevant sources of information. Critical thinking does not mean a person is critical or argumentative. It can also play a role in cooperation and reasoning. We use critical thinking to enhance our social situations. Some people think...

...The Final Quest by Rick Joyner The Hordes of Hell Are Marching (Taken from "The Morning Star," Vol. 5, Nos 2-4, by Rick Joyner) The Evil Army I saw a demonic army so large that it stretched as far as I could see. It was separated into divisions, with each carrying a different banner. The foremost and most powerful divisions were Pride, Self righteousness, Respectability, Selfish Ambition, and Unrighteous Judgment, but the largest of all was Jealousy. The leader of this vast army was the Accuser of the Brethren himself. I knew that there were many more evil divisions beyond my scope of vision, but these were the vanguard of this terrible horde from hell that was now being released against the church. The weapons carried buy this horde had names on them: the swords were named Intimidation; the spears were named Treachery; and their arrows were named Accusations, Gossip, Slander and Faultfinding. Scouts and smaller companies of demons with such names as Rejection, Bitterness, Impatience, Un-forgiveness and Lust were sent in advance of this army to prepare for the main attack. I knew in my heart that the church had never faced anything like this before. The main assignment of this army was to cause division. It was sent to attack every level of relationship-churches with each other, congregations with their pastors, husbands and wives, children and parents, and even children with each other. The scouts were sent to locate the openings in churches, families or individuals that rejection...

Mans

...The Moose and the Sparrow Hugh Garner From the very beginning Moose Maddon picked on him. The kid was bait for all of Maddon's cruel practical jokes around the camp. He was sent back to the tool-house for left-handed saws, and down to the office to ask the pay cheater if the day's mail was in, though the rest of us knew it was only flown out every week. The kid's name was Cecil, and Maddon used to mouth it with a simpering mockery, as if it pointed to the kid being something less than a man. I must admit though that the name fitted him, for Cecil was the least likely lumberjack I've seen in over twenty-five years in lumber camps. Though we knew he was intelligent enough, and a man too, if smaller than most of us, we all kidded him, in the good natured way a bunkhouse gang will. Maddon however always lisped the kid's name as if it belonged to a woman. Moose Maddon was as different from Cecil as it is possible for two human beings to be and still stay within the species. He was a big moose of a man, even for a lumber stiff, with a round flat unshaven face that looked down angrily and dourly at the world. Cecil on the other hand was hardly taller than an axe-handle, and almost as thin. He was about nineteen years old, with the looks of an inquisitive sparrow behind his thick horn-rimmed glasses. He had been sent out to the camp for the summer months by an distant relative who had a connection with the head office down in Vancouver. That summer we were cutting big stuff in...

What Do You Think Is Unethical?

...What do you think is unethical? The countrywide approved everyone to get their loans, no matter they have jobs or not, no matter they have income or not, no matter they have assets or not. The criteria they use may be unethical. They don’t care whether the documents are valid, whether they can verify the income, whether the appraisal is any good. They just care about getting the loan closed, in order to do another loan. The underwriters/ contractors looked through the loan as quick as they can. The loans are not looked at like they should have been looked at. They won’t think through with the common sense which is reasonable or not. ( teacher 10,000, waitress 12,000). On the instruction of their supervisor and lead. In the world of due diligence, they don’t use the word “fraud”. Even if it is suspected, they will say it seems like incorrect. 60% to more than 80% of the loans did not meet their policy. Clinton Holdings perform due diligence to two dozen banks, who were buying the mortgage from the Countrywide, Ameriquests, the New Centurys, packaging those loans, selling them to other investors. In each of these banks, The Clinton Holdings find a substantial portion of the loans did not meet the standards of the bank buying those loans. The banks did not tell the investors that the loans were defective. Blankfein was unapologetic. Do you think they know that you think something is a piece of crap when you sell it to them and then bet against it? When the supervisor go to the...

Think, Feel and Do: I ♥ You

...THINK, FEEL AND DO: I ♥ YOU “True love waits”. And to simplify this briefly, there are three steps on how to prepare in engaging ourselves in relationship. First, solve unresolved problems. Forgiveness and acceptance of one’s failure must always stay in our hearts so that we can move on from our past. Let your rejection be your key to be a better person. Second, stop believing in the “right person myth”. Looking for the perfect one for us is never true. We may feel deeply in love to that person but as we grow day by day with him/her we will meet lots of his hidden attitude that we don’t know yet. Lastly, start becoming the right person. Take the effort and discipline to be the person, the person you’re looking for. Instead of thinking of having our ideal partner for the future let us think also the other way around, molding ourselves to be like the person we are looking for. I Corinthian chapter 13 verses 4-5 said “Love is PATIENT, love is KIND. it does not ENVY, it does not boast, it is not PROUD, it is not RUDE, it is not SELF-SEEKING.it is not easily ANGERED, it keeps NO RECORD of WRONGS. It always PROTECTS, always TRUSTS, always HOPES, and always PERSEVERES. LOVE NEVER FAILS...” In other words, love is not an easy act it is “sacrificial”. Therefore, before we enter in a relationship we must know first our priorities and ready ourselves in taking that tract. In addition, we must also discern well on what vocation we will pursuing for the future. We must preserve our whole...

Happiness

...One Question You Need to Ask Yourself Every Morning to Have a Happier, More Successful Day It’s no secret that success comes from hard work, determination, and more hard work. But research also shows another key contributor to setting yourself up for success: a positive attitude. So how do you pull that off during those stressful days filled with hard work? By asking yourself one simple question each and every morning, you’ll set the stage for a day full of increased productivity, and dare I say it, even more happiness. And isn’t that the true measure of success? So you’re probably wondering, what’s the question? Here it is: Start off each and every morning by asking yourself if the world is inherently good or bad. None other than the late Muhammad Ali once said, “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.” By telling yourself that everything is indeed good, you’ll reap the substantial benefits that come along with the power of positive thinking. Read on to find out exactly how: Choosing to Live in a Good World Why should it matter whether or not you think you live in a good or bad world? For starters, it helps to put things into perspective. When you internalize every roadblock or mistake as a reflection of the broader world, you’ll end up interpreting more and more things as negative events. But when you look at things positively, you’ll enjoy your day more. Plus, the people around...

The Threshold of Revelation

...Threshold Of Revelation By Christopher A. Johnson Scene 1 FADE IN on a long shot of New York City, approaching from the south. It is dusk, and the lights of the city are beginning to twinkle against the backdrop of the vibrant city. Quick cuts to street level scenes of well-known locales between title cards naming the cast. These scenes and title cards are cut with a moving shot of the George Washington Bridge (span, cables, deck, towers, etc.) from different angles and perspectives. . The credits end on one continuous shot as we approach a figure standing on the south side of the bridge, staring out over the Hudson River and the lights of Manhattan to the south. This is DECKER JONAS. He is tall and striking, wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. The camera then circles behind Decker going from left to right, catching Deckers view of the city at sunset. As the camera completes its half circle to the right and comes to a complete stop at DECKER’S ¾ profile we see he is holding a piece of paper, it is folded, he unfolds the paper and begins to read, a voice over begins. It is Decker’s voice. DECKER: Mom. Dad. I feel as though I’m losing myself again. [ 1. PAN to OS Right showing the letter] I know I am.
