Fdr Response To The Great Depression Dbq

...The great depression forced society and president Franklin D. Roosevelt to make major changes in government organization to relive the lives affected by the great depression. Siebel Assignment 1 0005 Sec B

...SIEBEL SYSTEMS: ANATOMY OF A SALE What are the positives and negatives of Gregg Carman’s performance in gaining an entry into Quick & Reilly? In view of this, would you rate his performance favorably? Going forward what is most potent threat that could jeopardize Carman’s plan? Justify your answers using case facts. Siebel Systems was formed with the dual objective of being a high technology enabler focused entirely on customer satisfaction with enduring values. The company was part of the tipping point of IT being a back end function to a growth driver. It captured the most crucial aspect of this evolution, that of enabling a firm to reach out to its customers when and where the customers required service. By 2001 it had over 50% of the CRM market share, was touted to be the best in the industry in CRM solution and had global presence. It was going from strength to strength and the biggest factor contributing to this growth was its “ecosystem of partners” strategy coupled with its single minded focus on customer satisfaction. The research results were proof of how effective Siebel was in achieving its aims, garnering its customers return on the CRM investments in 9.6 months only along with a 20% increase in customer satisfaction levels, 19% increase in productivity levels & 16% increase in customer retention levels for its customer firms. In the case of Carman we need to first understand the relationship from the customers’ need. Quick & Reilly was clearly a firm in distress...

Was Fdr's New Deal Succesful?

...New Deal, designed to get America out of the Depression. FDR’s plan using the three R’s – Relief, Recovery and Reform was really helpful to the economy but some people seemed to strongly disagree on his methods. To begin with, FDR’s New Deal seemed to only help employees, and this maddened not only the employers, but also the companies themselves. “Nearly every public statement form Washington is against stimulation of business which would end in the end create employment” (Document B). This is trying to say that with FDR’s plan to not produce unnecessary product in order to not spend money that could be saved makes companies need less employees, and that creates more unemployment overall. Furthermore, the New Deal “began to find expression in diverse forms which were often contradictory. Some assisted and some retarded the recovery of industrial activity.” (Document D). People were confused as in what was what FDR was really trying to achieve with contradictory organizations like The National Recovery Administration- which controlled the industry codes in a really unfair way – and the Public Works Administration – a plan to spend (maybe waste?) 6 billion dollars from the American Government in building unneeded bridges, roads etc just so some people could get jobs. Some people also believed that having the employees’ wages increase “[has] no direct relation to interstate commerce.” (Document F) This meant that it was a little confusing to understand how increasing wages could...

...Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM-R) Admission Policy 2015© This document summarizes the approach of IIM Rohtak to preparing the Admission List for its 6 th PGP Batch (2015-17) (The approximate batch size is 150-160). IIM Rohtak (IIM-R) reserves the right to modify any part of this document including the various criteria and cut offs mentioned at any time till the actual admission process for the batch is completed. The basic objective of IIM-R’s admission process is to identify meritorious candidates for admission under each category of admission, viz., General, OBC, SC, ST and PWD/DAP. While merit is the prime consideration, the Institute recognizes a possibility of skewed student structure in favour of male gender and engineering and related subjects at graduation in the normal course. Hence, it strives to ensure a better balance in opportunities among different subject streams and genders. It is also part of IIM Rohtak’s approach to duly recognize academic consistency and industrial experience. The admission process of IIM-R consists of (a) CAT, (b) shortlisting for Personal Appearance (PA) process, (c) conducting the PA process composed of Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis (WA) as well as any other component to be decided, and (d) preparing the Final Selection List (FSL) based on CAT score, PA score and profile score including Work Experience (WE) score as assessed during the PA process, score for Past Academic Performance (PAP) and any other criterion...

Pgde Education Project

...Executive Summary This report examines the need for a learning tool that would improve and develop the learner’s literacy skills. Methods of analysis includes examining the needs from relevant stakeholders and the outcomes from a community of inquiry. Results of the research and feedback demonstrated that although students may possess English GCSE qualifications the business community and bodies such as OFSTED highlight that the level of literacy amongst today’s school leavers was not adequate in terms of the functional skill. The report highlights the importance of increasing student’s level of literacy and functional skills. There are areas specifically in terms of cross-curricular activities that could be further explored. The report recommends the creation of a learning tool in the form of a booklet to enable students to develop and improve their literacy skills within the business curriculum and thus the functional skill. Once the initial proposal was agreed in order to maintain focus throughout the project, SMART objectives were established and addressed, a time plan was created and the personal tutor was involved during the project (Refer to Appendix 1). Introduction ‘Literacy is a fundamental human right and the foundation of lifelong learning. It is fully essential to social and human development in its ability to transform lives. For individuals, families, and societies alike, it is an instrument of empowerment to improve one’s health, one’s income, and...
