...downs. I've been able to write papers but I've always needed a little bit of help to complete them. My mom has always been there when I am having problems writing papers. There have been times where I am amazing at them and knock them out like nothing. These are papers are usually short stories or something I can relate to. Then theres times where nothing comes to me and it seems like it takes forever to write them. When writing the papers one of the difficulties came from what I was writing about. In high school papers stressed me out because I knew I was going to have trouble with them. When I had to write my paper for chemistry, I worried about the length, how many citation, and how to cite it. I ask myself how does confidence impact my ability to write? On the one hand the papers I have the most confidence writing and I favor the most are ones where we have to tell a made up story or about a life event. I can write these very easily because I can remember the event very vividly or can make up a story with lots of detail. With event stories I usually just remember then write and occasionally go back to reread and fill some parts with more detail. In high school one of the first papers I had to write in my English class about a life event that changed your life. I thought to myself this is really easy to write about. I had an idea and there was no length on the paper so I didn't have to worry about how long it was. I was ready for this paper. I had confidence and I knew inside...

...Hope of Doing Perfect Research (Griffiths, 1998, p97). The issue of whether doing a perfect research is feasible or not has in the recent years, become a key issue of debates in the world of research and inventions. It is usual that the level of perfection committed to any given research, is in most cases, is bent towards the achievement of the research’s primary goals. Based on the fact that human beings possess varied intellectual capabilities, have constructive, reflective and inquisitive minds, and are prone to the commission of errors, it is certain that nothing can be done to perfection. In spite of the fact that many discoveries, developments and inventions seem to be perfect, research has always proved that they can be improved upon. In the light of these lines, I do agree with Griffith on the statement that there is no hope of doing perfect research. The definition of the term research by the Merriam-Webster dictionary is a devoted and systematic study, investigation or examination of previously done work, with an aim of establishing or developing new inventions or conclusions. The term may also be used to imply to the revision of already existing laws, theories or experiments with a target of discovering new facts and findings. This makes the hope of doing perfect research unfeasible. The various developments and transformations, which the world has gone through since the dawn of civilization, satisfy the statement that there is no hope in doing perfect research. In this...

...This specific paper introduced me to a wide range of research opportunities that could make or break a paper. What I loved most about this piece is that I did not have to only choose one option for it, I was able to choose maybe two research styles or more. For my finished research paper I did use at least two to three research styles. I actually did all three types of research for my paper observation, survey and interview. I found observation to be the most useful due to actually gaining more reviews rather than maybe my ten or twelve interviwee’s. This particular assignment made me a better writer at the end of the semester for the simple purpose of teaching me something I did not know. Throughout this assignment process I choose to do all three just to witness which one could give me a better start furthermore, more information for my paper as a whole. I did find this helpful for the reason of me now using one if not all of these options the next time I may do a similar paper and it also makes the paper a little easier informational wise. I really worked hard on this individual assignment by trying to create a unbiased survey that covered the most important questions, also I tried to ask the most important questions during my interviews all while...

Narrow down your topic to something that can really be worked within the boundaries of the paper. If the topic is already chosen for you, start exploring unique angles that can set your content and information apart from the more obvious approaches many others will probably take. Finally, whatever angle your topic takes, it should be both original in approach and insightful, something the reader will be drawn into and fascinated by. This is known in academia as "premature cognitive commitment". It can mar an otherwise good paper because an outcome that is pre-determined in your head, regardless of the research findings along the way, will be molded to fit the outcome, rather than the outcome reflecting a genuine analysis of the discoveries made. Instead, ask continuous questions about the topic at each stage of your research and writing and see the topic in terms of a "hypothesis" rather than as a conclusion. In this way, you'll be...

...tools that you will utilize throughout your time in college and now you have a reference guide to help you. Using your general internet skills you know that when you research on the internet there are a few different things that you need to look for in terms of reliable sources for your papers. Looking for websites that end in “.EDU,” “.GOV,” and “.ORG,” is going to be the most useful for research as they typically will provide facts rather than an opinion of an author. Since blogs are typically the writer’s opinion, they may not be considered reliable sources unless they are backed up with facts of their own. While these websites can give you some ideas of where to look for reliable sources, weeding through all the opinions is time consuming and not usually worth all the work. When you are researching for a paper and looking for reliable sources, remember, CARS: Credibility, Accuracy, Reasonableness and Support. You also learned the importance of tone in online writing. Keeping a professional tone to your writing in class forums and assignments is going to be worth more points than using laid back slang on a term paper. It also shows a lack of enthusiasm to learn new things and close mindedness to new ideas. You want to use a different tone in your school forum than you do on your social websites, there is always a chance that the reader is going to misinterpret your meaning and...

...I. INTRODUCTION We often heard that graft and corruption was introduced to us by the Spaniards during the time of their colonization. In the History class, it was said that it is because of those governor generals that did nothing but to enrich their selves here in the Philippines. But if we just think out of the box, graft and corruption is not just something that we inherited before. We should not blame Spaniards because of it. Then, you may probably asked, who then should be blamed for it? As researchers, we are not saying that all of us should be blamed. But instead of blaming others, let us rather do something to eradicate this evil that causes misery to all of us. Graft is defined as one of the forms of political corruption. It is the unscrupulous use of the politician’s authority for personal gain. Most governmental systems have laws in place to prevent graft although this does not always halt political corruption. Political corruption is the use of power by government officials for illegitimate private gain. An illegal act by an officeholder constitutes political corruption only if the act is directly related to their official duties, is done under colour of law or involves trading in influence. Forms of corruption vary, but include bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. Corruption may facilitate criminal enterprise such as drug trafficking, money laundering, and human trafficking, though is not restricted to these activities. Misuse...

...the concept Effeciency in the Equity Market. Executive Summary: Research and the idea of market efficiency have come a long ways in past 30 years. Many of the reported irregularity could be the result of mismeasurements and the failure to incorporate time-varying risks and returns as well as the cost of information. Definition Efficient market is one where the market price is an unbiased estimate of the true value of the investment. Market efficiency does not require that the market price be equal to true value at every point in time. All it requires is that errors in the market price be unbiased, i.e., that prices can be greater than or less than true value, as long as these deviations are random. Very simply an efficient financial market do not allow investors to earn above-average returns without accepting above-average risks. Fama first defined the term "efficient market" in financial literature in 1965 as a market with a large number of profit-maximizers "with each trying to predict future market values" and "information is almost freely available." Ball, while still advocating the efficiency of the market, acknowledges several limitations that were found as researchers poured over the date looking for anomalies. Basic idea underlying market efficiency is that competition will drive all information into the price quickly. This idea got its start at least in part due to Ball and Brown's 1968 paper looking at earnings announcements. The authors found that the market...

...What kinds of family tree are you interested in doing. Many people want a very detailed record with dates and facts and names. Others enjoy the stories that go along with each generation. Some may have been exaggerated over the years but are still fun to hear about. Families tend to gossip, that is nothing new. Your job as family historian is to try to separate fact from fiction but still keep it interesting. You will have to acquire quite a few skills in your new position. Just the complying of all the paper work and filing it, then filling out your charts and templates to keep all your information organized. That is where sometimes is worth investing in a genealogy software program that can help you with all your research. What ever kind you end up with is entirely up to you. You should decide from the beginning of how deep you want to dig and how far back you intend to go. When it is completed, what form you want it to be in is another question. You can have it on book form, which is nice because you can leave it out for everyone to see. Of course, in the electronic age we live in, you can make it on a DVD and send out...

... April 28, 2013 This research will show that they are still individuals will try to make a name for themselves. They are ways for individuals to try be dishonest and thinking they are getting away with the unethical situations, but with the strict rules and regulations in place they will get caught fast. Given PCAOB oversight of accounting firms and the AICPA code of conduct, discuss whether or not you believe that public accounting firms can successfully manipulate audit work papers and records of clients engaged in fraudulent activity. The PCAOB and AICPA has done a good job on the code of conduct but it doesn’t completely stop all fraudulent activity. I believe in my opinion you are still going to have fraudulent activity going on as long this world has business transaction taking place. I do agree that public accounting firm can successfully manipulate audit work papers and records if a client is doing fraudulent activity. The question always remain when will the fraudulent activity stop. The answer is never because as long we have businesses someone go to the dark side and do dishonest things. Since the SOX and creation of PCAOB and AICPA the activity has been a small amount and not as large as Enron and World Com. Also the number of auditors getting in trouble are in small amounts of activities. Even though they might think they were successful in manipulating the work papers, they will always get caught or do the right thing turn themselves...

... We agree to something and we decide to put it on paper for how long no matter what comes up we stick to it. Now contract can be so testy we don’t know if we are breaching it or right on task. There are contract almost everywhere that we go, when we get a car, buy a house, even when you sign up for a credit card you are putting yourself in a contact. Now every time that you think about something that you want to get into a contract with, it's always smart to think research and make sure that what you are doing is great for you. For example people everyday get into a new car contract because they really need it. Now I have done this in the past but before we got into the contract I made sure that we were able to afford it. Now something that my wife does is takes all the information that we gathered from the car lot and made sure that it would fit in our budget. Now after a long talk we were able to come to the decision that we would take the car. But we wanted to make sure that this is something that really wanted to, I know that if we were not going to be able to afford it then we would be in more trouble for not having that ability to pay for it. Now we are really going to get into this car contract a little deeper and by that I mean we are going to see what is good and what is bad about all decision that will be made in the final hours of the contract. So we will skip past the months that you test drive, and research everything about the new vehicle that you want. And...

...learn. The following paper will be a Self-Assessment and Reflection Paper of my learning style. I will also assess my strengths and opportunities, available to me, for growth. Finally, knowing my learning style can dramatically expand my knowledge base and putting myself in situations favorable for my learning style will allow me to succeed. I will formulate a strategic plan that will allow me reach my goals. But, what is a learning style? Learning styles are defined as “individual consistencies in perception, memory, thinking and judgment across any stimulus condition” (OMIDVAR, Bee Hoon, 2012, 269). Based in Kolb’s (1984) learning model, I am a visual learner. Visual learners may have artistic ability as they have a strong sense of color, pictures, flow charts, diagrams and visualization, and they write everything for frequent and quick visual review. The Visual learners may have difficulties with spoken directions, sounds and spoken words. (Amran, Bahry, Yusop, Abdullah, 2010/2011, p.328) Learning to me depends on the setting, depends on me, and how my processor is “feeling” at the time of contact. I prefer to work independently, I dislike working in a group with irresponsible people. I am a disorganized person but, I am efficient and responsible. I work well in a structured environment. I prefer to read instead of listening and I love studying alone in a quiet environment. It is the only way I can be focused on what I am doing and what I have to get done. This is one of the...

...lives, I like many others have become drawn to that lifestyle. These days it’s rare to find someone who does not multitask and isn’t able to multitask very well. Multitasking for me is helpful when the amount of work I need to get done increases. From being in school full time and also having to run a house it takes much of my time and being able to multitask effectively makes my day easier. I think multitasking is great when it comes naturally, for some it might even be an advantage. Although some might believe that splitting your attention into different jobs causes work quality, I think it all depends on the task and what requires more attention. For me it’s all about time management and how my day is split and what my priorities are. I’m married and although school is important my husband comes first. Before it was so much easier to get home, eat a hot pocket and wait till my mom got home to cook but that’s not my life anymore and I get home to do what she did and what everyone takes for granted. My multitasking is caused by my busy schedule and the thing I most want to get to at the end of the day is my family and for that reason it’s just easier for me to get multiple things done at once. Multitasking at home means I can get more things done at a certain amount of time. At home I can wash dishes while I cook and also watch TV. Although I may not be completely focused on the TV I can get the dishes out of the way and also get started on either boiling or frying something...

...they are doing before they partake in an action because the way that lobsters are killed is quite cruel. To catch the attention of his readers, Wallace uses vivid imagery when describing how some choose to kill their lobsters. Aside from the typical “plunge” (6) into boiling water, he states that some cooks like to “drive a sharp heavy knife point-first into a spot just above the midpoint between the lobster’s eyestalks” (6). Although it is a gruesome statement, it is clearly seen by anyone who is reading and it is easy to imagine how awful that would feel. Wallace also uses strong imagery when he talks about the lobsters at the Festival. In order to express how miserable the lobsters are, he says that they “pile over one another, wave their hobbled claws impotently, huddle in the rear corners, or scrabble frantically back from the glass as you approach” (7). Just...
