Approaching the brick-front ranch for the first time in awhile made my hands drip more water than a leaky sink faucet and caused me to pace back and forth in front of his door. After pressing the doorbell I heard echoes of footsteps and soon a blurred figure appeared in the foggy oval glass. After a few moments, the sound of locks turning filled my ears and the door squeaked open with the figure standing there. It was Donald Hattendorf. He pushed open the glass storm door while greeting me with an energetic hello and an enormous smile. As a shy kid, I was nervous to start a conversation with him; I was shaking harder than a dangling, fall leaf, so all I said to him was hello. But, that would be the final time I would go to his house acting agitated. Above all, Mr. Hattendorf invited me over one time because he wanted me to help set up his little train set with him. These miniature sets always fascinated me, so I was more than happy to help him assemble it. The vehicle was as clean as a piece of jewelry. As he drove down the road, my eyes scanned his car and the mini rocket. I thought to myself how am I going to fly this thing? As soon as the truck came to a stop, we then walked to a spot where the grass was short and he brought a mini rocket launcher with. He instructed me to put the rocket on the launcher and to connect the wires to the bottom of it. After that, he let me launch the rocket by turning the brown knob to the word “go”, soon making it shot into the air. The rocket soared through the sky, higher than a United Airlines plane. It was accompanied by a parachute, helping it slowly fall to the earth as where it started. I never have been more amazed in my
