...Overall, I think I was superb on my first Self-Introduction Speech. I honestly thought standing and talking to an audience, who seem to look a lot like my peers, would be a breeze. Now that my first speech is dead and gone, I can admit that public speaking is not a piece of cake. For an example, to get to the center of a lollipop with gum in the middle you have two choices; licking the edges to get to the core or bite into the lollipop. Thinking that I could have just taken a bite of the lollipop, I had some type of confidence. One of my strengths I noticed about my speech was looking into the audience eyes. Having eye contact with your audience makes he or she see things as you see them and not lose interest in what you are saying easily. Two of my biggest weaknesses, of my speech, was not projecting my voice and talking fast. Not projecting my voice came from being shy. Imagine, talking in front of a group of people who you don’t know, nevertheless probably judged you from the second you walked into class on your first day of school. Although my feelings were a rollercoaster, my heart was beating like a drum and the palm of my hands were sweating as if I just washed them. I have learned to stop being stuck up and just enjoy myself. The more I thought about how the audience might act towards me, was the worst I got. While I was delivering my speech, I felt like I was only catching three fourths of the audience attention. My goal for my next speech is to grab the whole...

...Alopecia is a disease involving the thinning or complete loss of hair. Alopecia’s affects differ based on gender. Males suffer from the loss of hair at the hairline or top of the head. Females, on the other hand, suffer from hair loss that is often only at the top of the head, with the hairline staying in tact. There are many causes contributing to the diagnosis of alopecia. This list includes aging, genetics, illness, or malnutrition. Alopecia is not to be confused by baldness caused by “the hairless gene”. “A congenital disorder called atrichia is caused by the ‘hairless’ gene." Alopecia, though it can be genetically passed down, is very different from general balding in that it is caused by actual damage to the hair shaft or follicle. Damage can be caused by a major illness, particularly a fungal infection, stress to the root, injury, or even medications such as chemotherapy. Our world today is constantly changing. New diseases are discovered, old diseases disappear, and cures or vaccines are developed for the millions we have affected by one thing or another. Today there are 53 million people affected by a disease know as Alopecia. I would like to explore the most common forms of Alopecia's that effect millions today. These include Universal Alopecia, Androgenetic Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, Anagen Effluvium, Telogen Effluvium, Alopecia Areata, Scarring Alopecia, and Alopecia Totalis. Universal Alopecia is total loss of hair on the body. This affects...

...Dones Espirituales 12:1 ACERCA DE LOS DONES ESPIRITUALES.

...Whale Done! The Power of Positive Relationships Kenneth H. Blanchard 11/30/2004 1) Experience in both business and writing is what motivated Blanchard to write this book. He realizes how important strong, positive relationships are in home and business environments. Having written other business oriented literature this book is just another to add to the multi-faceted business profession. 2) Anyone can read this book. It takes the entertainment of Sea World (which we all know) and relates it to family and business relationships (which we’ve all experienced). There are no technical terms or other prerequisites to this book. It is at about a middle school reading level. 3) The main point of the book is to build positive relationships by accentuating the positive. The main character, Wes, gets the chance to analyze how trainers work with Killer Whales at Sea World. They tell him the whales are most effective when being rewarded for doing something correctly. He takes this philosophy home and to the office and tries to recognize when his co-workers/subordinates and wife/children do something well. 4) Working in an organization with negative relationships and low morale can be troublesome for productivity. Also it can cause stress and depression, which can lead to poor behavior outside of work. It is essential to every work environment to be positive and work well with others, both for ones well being and the success of an organization. 5) The first thing...

...The purpose of Carbon Tax – Pros and Cons Researchers have been attempting to estimate the monetary value of damages in future resulting from climatic change. This change is associated with a steady increase in carbon dioxide emissions in every given year hence resulting in an attached value of the benefit from commensurate reduction of the toxic emissions. This measure is usually known as the social cost of carbon (SCC). SCC has been estimated by a task force of the federal government resulting from 1-ton carbon dioxide emission reduction in the year 2010 to be approximately $21 US dollars. Those values were found to be highest when the researchers consider the significant weight on the long-term outcomes. The severity of this matter cannot be also downplayed especially when we imagine the damages assuming climate change could increase more sharply in the coming years. This could lead to a lot of catastrophic occurrences. While the world delays efforts that are meant to reduce emissions, the risks associated with such emissions piles up to alarming levels. As days go by, larger amounts of carbon dioxide coupled with other toxic gases are emitted. Given the inherent uncertainty in predicting effects of change in climate and its possibility of triggering catastrophic effects, lawmakers may have to view a carbon tax as reflection of the will of the society to pay in order to reduce the risk in future of potentially expensive damages. The production of carbon...
