...This will mean getting my clothes muddy, but this is insignificant, while the death of the child would be presumably a bad thing.”(p.231) In this thought experiment provided by Peter Singer he illustrates his two arguments by presenting a situation where we sacrifice something of little moral importance for something of greater moral importance. He uses his clothes to as an example of something that has no moral significance or value, and as an item that should not factor into his mind when deciding to save the child. While ruining his clothes maybe a bad thing, it is an even worse thing to allow the child to die. However, his thought doesn’t address the incompatibility of his version of giving with the real world. Of the many objections that can be presented the most clearly present are those surrounding the increase of transportation of charitable goods and the costs of it. For example, the moral risks associated with sending someone to a region in need of aid when doing so would put their lives at risk. How should society attempt to justify the risk of sending a ship through dangerous waters in areas with high levels of piracy? Another dilemma would be the obvious increase in C02 emissions produced by the increase of traffic throughout the world in order to get the goods and services to the areas in need....

...this information is at risk, when stored through third party services. Today, almost all companies 94 percent have worries about employees mixing personal and business data on their mobile devices, according to a survey published by online-backup provider EVault in January. ( Lemos et al., 2013) What people do not know is that a lot of data being stored in one place, becomes very attractive to attackers, and hackers. While allowing these sites to have access to this information, you are allowing them access to other things like your location, additional pictures, voice recordings, and business documents that u have on your device. This becomes a very easy way for people to steal your personal information, and possibly your identity. It’s even worse that you can’t tell whether the information is stolen or not. Another scare is that someone may be able to subpoena you for past phone calls or text messages. Just by syncing your phone with things lie social site, and email addresses leave your information vulnerable to anyone. ...this case, if Tina accepted doing the job, customers would be hurt the most. Since Tina wanted to act on her value instead of being a hypocrite, it would be reasonable for her to quit the job and continuingly look for other job opportunities. However, Tina’s situation was more complicated because she was in a hard time financing her living expenses like rents, school supplies, or even foods. Living independently is not easy, especially for Tina since she did not even have a job. Thus, Tina had better keep doing her job for another short amount of time. While working as an intern there, she should actively continue looking for other internships and job opportunities. She also might want to do job researches at home to avoid her coworkers or her boss to see because that could cause trouble for herself. Obviously, Tina’s job doesn’t make her a bad person, it is just a matter of time. She knew what she was doing, but she just needed more time to financially balance her life. ...moments of ambiguity and some highlights in the film that indirectly give us a sense of ageism, sexism and cultural values. The directors craft helps tie these together in a way that is appealing to the audience and can be drawn back to David R. Shumways’ of that era. First I’d like to analyze my impression of the film. Before the film I knew of Bob Dylan, his music, his legacy. I was under the impression that Dylan fell into the category of mellow pot smokers or “stoners” of the midsixties who were heavily involved in politics and current events. Then having heard a few of his songs, I thought, “wow this guy really wants the best for our society”. With that in mind, I also believed Bob Dylans personality would be sort of gentle and affectionate. Dont Look Back pretty much challenged all point of views. Dylan gets into a lot of conflict throughout the film. There are several moments, when we are unsure if Dylan is being civil or argumentative with people. Although, we do get a glimpse at Bob Dylans sensitive side, we are preoccupied by his radical actions throughout the film. The introduction to the documentary, is a flashback into Bob Dylan's career, showing his origins as a singer for the homeless or basically anyone who couldn't afford to see him in concert. From the audiences standpoint, we are thinking about how much of a generous person, Bob Dylan seems to be. This flashback doesn't prepares us for the drastic changes in his personality throughout the film. I believe th...

...The pain of knowing my family is still in Haiti is the worst pain I have ever felt. It’s worse than the sores on my hands from the splinters of my rake, even worse than the beatings and burns I got from the Haiti officials. This (ms mac said identify) is by far the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. While I was in Haiti, I befriended the American missionaries; I had no idea of the price I would pay because of our friendship. After attackers dragged me out of my house and beat me almost to death, they proceeded in burning my face to give me the mark of a traitor. The next day the U. S. Coastguard found me almost dead. They took me out of Haiti and brought me to America. This would be wonderful if only I had my wife and three children here with me. It has been six long, lonely years since I have seen them. The first month in this new country I used a borrowed lawnmower to cut a neighbor’s grass. The people around town started asking me to do the same for them. When I made enough money, I bought a new lawnmower and gave it to the man who had let me borrow his; it was my way of saying thank you. Even though I send most of the money I make back to my family, I did manage to save up enough for a used truck. With the truck came new opportunities, which widened the range of lawns I could mow. When winter came, my small mowing operation became obsolete. I found myself looking in the newspaper for new jobs. I asked myself, “Who will hire an illegal Haitian...

...factories, they also are tossed around to different plants throughout their lives when one of them closes or gets shipped off to another country like what happened to the Sanyo plant. At the Sanyo plant, I was horrified to find out that one of the workers said that her nose used to bleed from the chemicals that she was inhaling and that she wasn’t allowed to drink water or go to the bathroom so she had kidney problems. I found this absolutely terrible that these factories could get away with treating their employees so badly. When Sanyo left, they took off without even giving their employees severance. One of the workers quoted this as saying, “they departed with their hands full and left us with our hands empty”. In Chilpancingo, it was really sad to hear how the river had turned disgusting. The lady said that it used to be crystal clear but now since the factories had been there it turns red, green, and foamy. She even said that it gave her niece hives and other problems for her relatives. I think that this is a very sad reality that these women face because there isn’t...

...affected. There is a way though to help; the person can work at getting good grades, studying hard, and facing the consequences of his action. Some people say that their responsibility at school isn’t to be worried about, but it is, and here are few ways to help. First, is getting good grades. If students don’t have good grades, or the responsibility to get them, they can be in a lot of trouble. The student could be held back, have to take a summer school, or work much harder to get her grades up. If a student is held back it could really affect him from not getting into the college of choice, or even a choice sport. Next, is a student needs to study hard. If a student doesn’t have the responsibility to study this it could easily affect something major such as a test or quiz score and get the person in a predicament. The consequences would be just as bad as not getting good grades and maybe even worse! Finally, is facing the consequences of a student’s action. When something does happen, such as not getting a good grade, or being held back, then a student should face it or something worse could happen. For example if you fail a test you could retake it and try to do better. This could fix your grade problem and help you in a major way. These are the reasons students need responsibility at school: to get good grades, study hard, and have them face the consequences of their actions. If students did these things they would get a better...

...innocence, but also the positioning of them ‘flowers of London town’ contrasts their beauty to the ugly setting of a city and gives them a certain strength in that they are able to flourish as flowers in a city. Holy Thursday in Experience however gives a different image of selfishness and irony as it conveys the idea that there shouldn’t be poverty and questions why there is in a ‘rich and fruitful land’, this could show that there is money available but it is not being used to reduce the poverty. The rich only do something once a year to make themselves feel good and as if they have helped the children. This can also be seen in Innocence in the last line ‘then cherish pity’, this could either be seen as positive as the children would be even worse off if there was no pity but to ‘cherish’ it seems like the people are happy to have it as it makes them feel better about themselves when they help the children once a year, the reality is they should be helping them all year. This line also causes the reader to contemplate the true...

...started. Most of the strengths I use on a day to day basis come from my military background such as honesty, leadership, teamwork, selfless service, loyalty, integrity, love of learning, and many more. I am very enthusiastic when people ask for my help and I know exactly what to do, but I’m also quick to refer them to another person that can handle the situation better than I can. When I am with my family I mainly use the same strengths but, problem solving comes up most of time due to daily challenges in life. My weaknesses make me a bad student, because when I get overwhelmed I tend to stop working and just drop everything and I focus on something that is completely irrelevant to what is being discussed. Even worse is when I’m out of focus and I’m trying to get back in the lecture, I will start asking around on where we are to be caught up with the subject. My biggest challenge is time management although I do not have a job, I do spend a lot more time doing house projects which does not have a deadline instead of working on my homework which I do either the day before or the day when the assignment is due. For me to become a better student, I need to manage my time better and build a schedule for me to follow and keep myself on track, make a copy of the schedule and post it for everyone in my household to see and...

...P4: Report Why is it important to be able to make referrals- It is important to be able to make referrals because it helps the client recover. Counselling sessions are created in order to assist the client with support and a person who listens to the client. If the sessions that are organised, not working out and nothing is changing in the client’s life then the counsellor would make referrals. These referrals would be according to the client’s situation and their satisfaction. Reasons why referrals maybe needed? - Reasons why counsellors refer their clients are because they cannot do anything about their situation or the client may need a referral. For example the counsellor may lack specific skills that they need in order to assist the client. Another reason could be if the client needs a specialist like a psychologist due to mental health problem. Sometimes a session becomes a difficult trial for the counsellor if they have similar experience as them. It would make it hard for them to complete the session as they wouldn’t feel comfortable. Another reason could be that no progression being made. Cultural barriers could also be another reason as the client and counsellor would have views that are in contrast. If the client is not being open to the counsellor, then the counsellor would find it hard to help, as they wouldn’t gain enough information. Another reason could be if the client is self -harming themselves, as this is a serious issue and therefore should be taken into...
