...Robert Doweny Jr How he came out on top On the 4th of April 1965 in Manhatten , Newyork cityAn American Actor , writer , producer , cinematographer and director Robert Doweny and his wife actress Elsie Ford welcomed their second child Robert Downey Jr into the world . He appears to have been gifted with all of the best that nature and genetic inhereatance can provide , good looks , a gifted actor , singer and a great sence of humour . The success he appercaiates today was however very nearly shortlived . In this article I wish to look at his life from early beginnings to present day . The question for him as with many of us , which has been debated by psycologist for many years , is has the life you have lived and will live (Life stages) down to nature or nurtre . That is to say is it down to the environment in which we live and learned behaviour or due to our genitic makeup . That is to say inhereted ? To answer I have chosen to look at the life of Robert Downy Jr who from a young age perhaps even birth has lived a very complex life where environmental factors have diffently played a major role in the way in which he lives / lived his life how much inheretence was involved with his physical intellectual emotional social development known as P.I.E.S is perhaps something that will be answred by the end of this article , so to be begin at the beginning . ...Robert Downey Jr. has evolved into one of the most respected actors in Hollywood. With an amazing list of credits to his name, he has managed to stay new and fresh even after over four decades in the business. Downey was born April 4, 1965 in Manhattan, New York, the son of writer, director and filmographer Robert Downey Sr. and actress Elsie Downey (née Elsie Ann Ford). Robert's father is of half Lithuanian Jewish, one quarter Hungarian Jewish, and one quarter Irish, descent, while Robert's mother was of English, Scottish, German, and Swiss-German ancestry. Robert and his sister Allyson were immersed in film and the performing arts from a very young age, leading Downey Jr. to study at the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in upstate New York, before moving to California with his father following his parents' 1978 divorce. In 1982, he dropped out of Santa Monica High School to pursue acting full time. ...As the narrator of Beowulf describes the hero, he sets up a scene for whirlwind adventure of superhuman abilities. “In his far-off home Beowulf, Higlac’s follower and the strongest of the Geats, greater and stronger than anyone anywhere in this world” (Line 90-93). An epic hero is someone who is a larger-than-life figure who often embodies the ideals of a nation or race. Epic heroes take part in dangerous adventures and accomplish great deeds, many undertake long difficult journeys and display great courage and superhuman strength. In the poem Beowulf, the author describes Beowulf as an epic hero through his actions and adventures that are similar and different to those of a modern day superhero such as Iron Man. Beowulf possess superhuman abilities when he describes his ability to drive five giants into chains and defeats Grendel with his bare hands. “Heard in his home: of heroes then living/ he was the stoutest and strongest/sturdy and noble”(line 8-12). Through these experiences that the author tells about in the epic, it is obvious that Beowulf is more than an ordinary man. His strength is tested by mythical beings that Beowulf has easily defeated. He also has some of the mental characteristics that are common to an epic hero including, his lack of self-righteousness and his perseverance while in battle. In the story Beowulf, Beowulf takes on a responsibility of fighting a dragon, this responsibility resulted in him dying at the end of the story. In Iron Man, Tony Stark...

...After viewing Wonder Boys. At the beginning, the music is a little decadent, so I thought it must be a sad film again, but when I keep watching I found I was totally wrong, it’s a comedy. The surprising thing is I saw the young Spider-man Tobey Maguire and young Iron Man Robert Downey Jr act important character in Wonder Boys. I think every young man like their hero movies and Downey truly has such gift of humor, his character always can make us laugh. I like the scene that he called James “Jimmy,Jimmy,Jimmy” . It’s so cute. The film is very different from the other films I have seen in class. First, this film is totally narrate in chronological order and the characters in this movie are all kind. Second, in Wonder Boys it has voiceover, a narrator Grady himself. Third, it’s a totally comedy, though there is some helpless emotion in the film, we can still find the humor in it. The film is about a professor of English at the university called Grady. Seven years ago his novel made him famous, become the Wonder boy. But seven years later, his writing into a bottleneck, for seven years he haven't finished a novel. His wife left him, and the headmaster his affair told him she was pregnant and the child’s father was Grady. But his unlucky things are not end yet, in the headmaster’s house after the party, he was bitten by the crazy dog. And his students James, in order to save him, James use the gun shot and kill the crazy dog. And then two people with a dead dog started to find the...

...J.A.R.V.I.S I really don’t know how original this is but, just think about this for a minute…I don’t know if this is fact or fiction but think about having a JARVIS. Jarvis is the smart computer designed by Tony Starks in the Ironman Movie. That’s what I see coming in the near future. As technology grows, computers are becoming smarter and faster and before you know it, a lot of people will own one. Jarvis is an interactive system that allows you to improvise tasks that is considered to be in your best interest. Jarvis is a home computer that controls everything from computers to security. It connects to the Wi-Fi and used holograms to communicate and gives access to anything you need and want. Jarvis can also assist in helping with work as well as other activities. With Jarvis around you can have a friend that knows absolutely everything about you and respond to the user’s thoughts. Jarvis will understand real life problems and situations, then help find solutions to correct or solve problem. I’m sure having a Jarvis is good but can you imagine how this would divide society. Only the wealthy could afford one so there’s the problem. Then you would have a very distinctive line between the upper-class of society vs. the middle-class or lower-class people because the (UC) would feel superior to the other classes because Jarvis could and would assist them in making better life decisions to better their lifestyle. If everyone had a Jarvis though, maybe the crime rate and criminal...

...barriers fell, the CEO of Nestle Barbeck-Latmathe seized the opportunity and decided it’s the right time for Nestle to expand geographically into the developed and emerging markets such as those in Eastern Europe, India and Asia. By doing this, Barbeck drove Nestle’s performance dramatically, taking into consideration the massive number of potential customers in these regions and the enlargement in Nestle’s customer’s base. In the 1990’s; Nestle managed its environment by acquiring other companies. The companies which Neslte acquired at that time included U.S. food companies Carnation, Buitoni Pasta, Ralston Purina, Dreyer’s ice cream and Chef America, the British chocolate maker Rowntree, the French bottled water company Perrier, and the Mexican food maker Ortega. It is noticeable that Neslte regards acquisitions and efforts at diversification as logical ways to supplement their business. Nestle only acquires food making companies, the business it has special knowledge and expertise in. After all, Barbeck’s intentions were to customize these products to suit the tastes of customers in different countries around the world as he was eager to enter other markets. Later, Nestle managed the environment by increasing operating efficiencies. Barbeck made many decisions to achieve this and reduce the cost of managing global operations. These decisions included cutting the work force by 20%, closing 150 factories, designing a new streamlined operating structure and using advanced...

...Why are so many Americans drawn to fast food? Do they realize what goes on behind the scenes? The fast food industry operates by assembly lines. This means cheap labor because the workers specialize in one skill and are classified as unskilled labor. So, our fast food is cheap and we eat it because it's cheap, it fills us up and we have more money in our pockets to spend on other things. But, is this the way it should be? Fast food is the food of choice for many people because engineers have skewed it to be cheap only to make healthy food become more expensive. In my opinion, organic foods are what we should be putting in our bodies. But the problem is these foods are very expensive. My solution is better regulation of the fast food industry with stricter laws for hiring and producing quality foods. Unfortunately, it's not just the fast food industry that is ruining Americans health. The meat industry needs better laws and regulations as well. The average person eats 200 lbs of meat per year but if they knew how the animals are treated and what they're being fed, I believe they would reconsider what they're eating. Chickens are being fed antibiotics to make them grow faster and fatter. The slaughtering conditions are many times horrendous with workers treating the animals with no respect and abusing the animals. The reasons for much of this mistreatment is due to the fact that the workers themselves were unhappy with the way they were being treated and would get...

...this on many issues; I do not believe that my stance on off shore drilling is an issue of stereotyping. I have reassured my stance by reading and researching this stance. As stated in a USA Today article (Jervis, Welch, & Wolf, 7/14), “When oil is brought up from beneath the ocean floor, other things are, too. Chemicals and toxic substances such as mercury and lead can be discharged back into the ocean”. The oil and chemicals are harming sea mammals and the water they live in. The other problem off shore drilling is the chance of oil spills. In April 2010, the BP oil company encountered an oil spill in the Gulf that lasted for about 3 months. Chemicals from offshore drilling combined with oil from spills have had an effect on the food we eat. Sea food lovers are seeing the effects in the pocket books;...
