I work for a property management company. The company is a large corporation that basically has management contracts with homeowners associations. Once the company has a contract, they hire employees for the specific property. These employees work on site and away from the corporate offices. My company's strategic plan has not been communicated to me. If the strategic plan was communicated to me, I think that it would allow for more understanding of my role in the big picture of the company. Right now I know what my role is on property but I do not have any idea where that fits into the corporate side of things. I never have any idea if the company plans to expand or has any expectations or goals for me to work towards besides my own personal goals.

I do feel that over all it is important for employees to know the strategic plan. This goes back to having everyone on the same page and headed in the same direction. I do kind of feeling like in some industries it may not be as important to know the strategic plan as it is for other industries. In my industry, the employees that work on individual properties aren't as involved in the corporation's operations. We are expected to just take care of the needs of our property. The main thing that we get from the corporate office is training and a paycheck. This limited knowledge of the strategic plan has little impact on how we do our job; therefore, I do not think this is always imperative to know the company's
