In the Roman Catholic Church, exorcism is used when the victims are suspected of demonic possession. It is the act of getting rid of the demon from people, objects, or places with the name of God. I actually have a personal story of an exorcism and it is BASED ON A TRUE STORY. It happened to my cousin, Vanessa that used to live in Washington, D.C.. She was only fourteen years when she got possessed. She was at a cemetery with a group of kids. They were not best influence on a fourteen year. They played the Ouija board and it was her first time ever communicating with a spirit. When she realized they were communicating with the spirit, she basically got scared and freaked out. When you do that type of stuff like communicating with a spirit, you must remain calm because you will never know if the spirit is truly good or evil. The spirit saw her as a weak human being and possessed her. You could not really tell in the beginning that she was possessed until later in the process. In the beginning, her actions and attitude changed towards school and life. She would not listen to her mom and did not care about school at all. Since her mother was the type to work all the time, and on her spare time she would go to parties so she did not pay attention to her daughter. What she did was sent her to Texas where her uncle was at since she will get more attention. Her uncle was a religious priest and felt as something was not right in Vanessa’s presence. She looked very sick and looked like she always needed to vomit. He started praying her as in started the exorcism, but could not free her from the demon. Her head would turn all the way around and her chest would pop out like someone attached a cable to her chest and was pulling it. The demon would rip her clothes right out. The demon’s voice would come out and scream and laugh at Vanessa’s uncle. He then contacted his cousins that were very strict and religious Christians.
