Clothing is necessary in society, especially in this time frame that we are living in. this is where the popular clothing brand H&M comes in. since Erling Persson acknowledges that the society is dependant and are up to date with the latest fashion trends and he has took upon himself to develop clothing to make the consumers a victim of “vanity slaves” Hennes & Mauritz which has been known H&M for decades is a very popular retail clothing company known for its trendy fashions targeted for women, men, teenagers and children. The company's founder Erling Persson traveled in 1946 and came up with the business idea which was to offer fashionable clothing at great prices. In 1947 he opened his first shop in Vasters, Sweden called "Hennes”, where he exclusively sold women's clothing. "Hennes" is Swedish and means "for her" and/or "hers". 1968 clothing retailer Mauritz Widforss took over, which led to the inclusion of a menswear collection in the offer and the name change to "Hennes & Mauritz" (H & M). In 1998, the company succeeded her initials "HM" which was the combination of both names. The company offers great items for everyone, that’s the major result of their success. The multimillion company has gained so much popularity that they have managed to branch out 2776 stores in 43 countries around the world. The company has successfully globalised their brand but they’ve done achieved this the cruel and easy way.
H&M is one of the most successful affordable clothing companies worldwide. The question is how this they achieve all of this success? Yes, the number one reason is because of us the consumer but also the manufactures, the individuals making these items. H&M has outsourced to Bangladesh and Cambodia due the fact that items would be cheaper there instead of staying in Sweden or America. All of the H&M items are made in India by individuals working in a sweatshop. These individuals are forced to work in a dangerous building for nothing. Twenty-six workers died while designing H&M garments in an old abandoned building which collapsed. Over one thousand workers died when a building later on decided to collapse in Bangladesh. You would’ve have thought that the company would do reconstruct the building workers are in when a one has already collapsed The only thing CEO Karl-John Persson said about the situation was “The factory collapse was horrific , you can never be 100% sure incidents happen in Sweden too” .His statement left many speechless, a lot called him heartless. Through it all H&M continues to pay these individuals forty dollars a month, which is the total cost of one sweater which these individuals make thousands of monthly. There is child labor, beaten are being beaten and cheated of their wages. Female are being sexually harassed in the sweatshops as male supervisors would constantly young women to have sex with them.
With all the worldwide criticism about H&M Beyonce and Lana Del Ray continue to sign millon dollar deals with the dreadful company. The two celebrities are known and are well respected worldwide. Theses celebrities should have taken a stand when these revelations emerged. Beyonce on her own has enough power and respect that than many around the world, probably even more respect than she actually know and thinks of her. She could have agreed to continue with H&M with some conditions. With those conditions being that the company agrees to change the working conditions I factories overseas. With the use of her popularity and the media justice would have been brought to the world. Her fans would support her decision against tis capitalist company due company because of the respect they have for her Even with the help of the media justice would’ve been brought to peace. The media would’ve have sent of the allegations and information instantly. Like was mentioned earlier, majority would have supported Beyonce because the fans actually understand her unlike H&M which is just a brand. Celebrities should look past the dollar sign and become aware of the company is selling.
This company has put a negative effect on individuals, even the ones in North America.

The rapid erosion of privacy poses numerous puzzles. Why is it occurring, and why do people care about it? This paper proposes an explanation for many of these puzzles in terms of the increasing importance of price discrimination. Privacy appears to be declining largely in order to facilitate differential pricing, which offers greater social and economic gains than auctions or shopping agents. The thesis of this paper is that what really motivates commercial organizations (even though they often do not realize it clearly themselves) is the growing incentive to price discriminate, coupled with the increasing ability to price discriminate. It is the same incentive that has led to the airline yield management system, with a complex and constantly changing array of prices. It is also the same incentive that led railroads to invent a variety of price and quality differentiation schemes in the 19th century.
