HLT 94 Assignment 1: Pro/Con
Your assignment is to examine both sides of a nutrition issue and come to a conclusion. As an example: if you pick “Is alcohol good or bad for health,” you must find articles to support each side of the argument before you decide on your answer. This assignment is meant to help students develop skills in the General Education Proficiencies of Information Literacy, Reasoning & Analysis, and Communication.
Steps:

Blog posts will not be accepted. (If you have questions as to the reliability of an article, print it out and show it to your professor).
3). Print out copies of your articles (you will be handing them in along with your paper). Peer reviewed journal articles may be very long; it is acceptable to print and hand in just the first page that includes the “abstract” of the article. (An abstract is a summary of the article’s key findings.)
4). Read the articles and use a highlighter to mark key points you will use in your paper.
5). In your opening paragraph, explain the topic you picked along with why it is of interest to you.
6). In your second paragraph, lay out the pros (benefits) of your particular
