Stepping into a role of a mentor as a first-year teacher myself, I found chapter 3 to be quite insightful. Considering myself a lifetime learner, I can acknowledge that success in teaching requires one to challenge and develop their practice by regular reflection and review. Dunne and Villani enlightened me on the importance of formulating an individual philosophy regarding my craft and professional growth. I am committed to working consistently to become an effective and an excellent teacher, in addition to assisting my mentee in any and every way possible.
