Way back when planes weren’t even thought of, Englishmen were traveling on boat to the Americas hoping to get gold and be rich just like the Spanish seemed to be doing. But what they thought was going to happen turn upside down and many colonist died. The Englishmen decided to land at a river call the James River, which is located in Virginia, Jamestown. Jamestown wasn't what they expected it all to be. They had poor settling skills and useless people that came just for the sake of making money. Also, they had big problems with getting along with the natives that appeared to be there before them, and the Englishmen didn't realize that they would be drinking salt water if the Atlantic Ocean is connected to the James river. Anyone would know salt water isn't good for any humaning being to drink. As days, months, and years went on things seemed to get worse. Englishmen were dying from whatever was going on that modern day scientist seemed to figure out. There were 43% of gentlemen out of 110 people (doc C) that came and they were basically useless, because they didn’t have the talent to really defend anyone not even themselves. The gentlemen were just there to make a living, not even used to working with their hands ( doc C ). If there wasn’t so much people that didn’t need to be their and was replaced with people that would’ve been helpful, maybe so many of the colonists wouldn’t of died. In 1607 and 1608 the Englishmen only brought 1 surgeon ( doc c) and if they had more, than many lives could’ve been saved. If there was some usefull people that was brought to Jamestown maybe the colonists wouldn’t of suffered so
