I agree with the articles on Perception vs. Reality by Jonathon. I think that the way you see life has a lot to do with what you make of life. For example, when he says, “The way in which your map is constructed will determine many aspects of your life. It will be a major determining factor in your success or failure, your happiness or unhappiness, and your satisfaction or dissatisfaction with your entire life experience.” I think that this is very true and very accurate. I think it’s important to know what you stand for and why you stand for it. But it is also important to keep an open mind, and to make sure that we can see beyond our own ‘maps’. To not be in denial about things, but also be able to defend your beliefs. I think the best way to see things in a different light is to simply look again. Often times we only see what is directly in front of us. It’s as if we made a makeshift telescope from a piece of paper and we only see what is on the other side of it...But if we were to look again, we would see that our view point is skewed in the sense that we are only seeing a small piece of the picture that is before us. So, in my opinion, in order for our perception to become accurate, as it shapes our reality, I think we all need to look
