...where it said N.W.A was a gang but it wasn’t a traditional gang, just a tight knitted group of guys that lived in poverty and were often harassed by police officials. The part in the review which I thought was my favorite and that I one hundred percent agreed on was when ew.com mentioned that the best part of the film was “N.W.A’s origin story: their aspirations, assembly, and earliest recordings that lead them to put their faith in a seemingly paternal manager.” The reason why I agreed with this part being the best of the film was because it was the rising action to the climax where they find out that the manger they put their faith on actually backs stabs them by cheating everybody except Eazy- E of their share of the money and also their credit to the music. Eventually the manger does cheat Eazy-E of his money too. I say this because these action are the first problem’s that start coming up with N.W.A and is the reason why Ice Cube breaks up with the group first and so do others later on. For this review I actually disagreed and agreed with some parts but at the end I would rate the review a 4 out of...

...N.W.A was an abbreviation for Niggaz Wit Attitudes an American hip hop group in Los Angeles California. The group started in 1986 the original members of this group were Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, DJ Yella, The D.O.C., and Arabian Prince. DJ Yella and MC joined later with Arabian Prince and dropped out a little before the official release of Straight Outta Compton. Jerry Heller was an American music manager and businessman. He was best known for being the manager of N.W.A. The record labels that N.W.A. was with were Ruthless Records, Priority Records, Interscope Records, Capitol Records, and EMI records. The record Straight Outta Compton talked about the violence and brutality of gang-ridden South Central L.A. and a lot of people did not like that, and the labels for it were Ruthless Records and Priority Records. On August 1, 1989 the FBI sent a letter to N.W.A saying: “Dear Mr. Manganiello: A song recorded by the rap group N.W.A. on their album entitled "Straight Outta Compton" encourages violence and disrespect for the law enforcement officer and has...

...Jacques Baynes ENG 101 October 2, 2015 Brad Baumgartner Straight Out Of Compton “Any publicity is good publicity. “Aspiring rapper Eric “Eazy-E” Wright states to the rest of his fellow N.W.A brothers as they sit to discuss the police and F.B.I threats that they have been receiving in the mall. The movie Straight Out of Compton is based on the true story about six troubled some young black men residing in Compton, California who rise unexpectedly to fame, using their viciously honest rhymes, die hard beats, and frustrations about their lifestyle in the streets of the hood. Active from 1986 to 1991 these six men Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Arabian Prince, MC Ren, and DJ Yella have endured enormous controversy owning to their explicit lyrics that many people have view as being disrespectful to women, drugs and crime, police, and gang violence. It’s hard to actively hate Straight Out of Compton, a movie so realistic that is based seemly on the true story of six black rappers whose lyrics and rhymes had left a lasting legacy and impression on the hip-hop culture. O’Shea Jackson Jr and Jason Mitchell are spectacular as Ice Cube and Easy-E who are best friends that come to gloves with one another when Eazy-E receives more money and love from their fans then Ice Cube. Their outstanding performance acting over the edge and showing actions of ruthlessness towards each other as both men spit disrespectful lyrics at each other to become the best rap artist in the industry at that...

...slavery, or their aftermath as they are lived out in many parts of the world today”(Pratt 34) by Mary Louise Pratt in her writing titled “Arts of the contact zone”. This song has been helpful and caused huge issues within the communities. The song shows the struggle that people of color go through in society and how different races portray each other based on stereotypes. NWA, which stands for Niggas With Attitude, wrote this song as a parody. I believe that they presented themselves with such vulgar because they felt like everyone saw them in a negative way. They became what the public thought they were. In doing so they caused a lot of commotion with the FBI and police. The song is from the view point of the 3 attorneys; MC Ren, Ice Cube, Eazy-E and the judge Dr. Dre. Each attorney shares their story about the struggle of being a person of color living in Compton. The first verse is by Ice Cube who mentions “and not the other color so police think/ they have the authority to kill a minority”(NWA 5). What Ice Cube is saying is that cops think because they are white, they are superior to people of color. The cops assume they have the right to kill them and abusing the authority they have. Instead of protecting the civilians, they are harming them. Later on Cube says “searching my car, looking for the product/thinking every nigga is selling narcotics/ you'd rather see, me in the pen/ than me and Lorenzo rolling in a Benz-o”(NWA 6) The police will stop these young black makes assuming...

...Influence of Entertainment Media Paper Eric Wright, better known as AKA Easy E, was one of the N.W.A (niggers with attitude) members in hip hop "gangster rap", and was the co-founder of Ruthless Records. The first to represent thug life as gangsters do it, and telling of his life story of growing up in the streets of Los Angeles California. Hip Hop Music Turns Gangster Rap And Brings Violence. During mid 1980s into the early 1990s the music industry had a serious change in the culture of music. That not only had the type of music change, but rapping about the degrading of women, racially and sexually into the violence of war between gangster’s thugs and the LA PD. The Americans at the time when easy E started his performance as a rap artist, did not realize there was already a war in the streets of Los Angeles. His music was stereotyped as the cause of many killings when committed due to a drive by shootings. It was automatic assumingly made by local gangsters. Because of this new gangster rap music. N.W.A Ruthless Records Co-Founded By A LA Gangster Made A Change In The Music Industry. Eric Lynn Wright, AKA easy E was and still is "the godfather of gangster rap". Easy was a solo performer in the music industry. Music artists like easy e, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Snoop doggy Dogg, had changed the update of music in the American culture. ...NWA Ni**az With Attitudes (NWA) was known as the world's most dangerous group. Five guys made up this well known rap group: Ice Cube, Mc Ren, Eazy E, Yella, and Dr. Dre. In the 1980’s, NWA was the biggest impact on popularizing gangta rap. They impacted and inspired many rappers of today's generation, and built up a type of music that people enjoy today. Activities that happened throughout NWA’s career, like Eazy E’s death, affected the people in America. Eazy E started out NWA with money he made off of drugs. Jerry Keller was the producer who picked Eazy as his favorite. Dr. Dre wasn’t okay with Eazy being paid more than everyone and being treated better. Suge Knight and “his guys” beat up Eazy to get Dre released from the Ruthless Records they originally started together (Rolling Stone). Without NWA, Dr. Dre wouldn’t be where he is today. NWA is how Dre made it out into the “rapping world.” After Dre left Ruthless Records, he went out on his own- into Death Row Records. After Dre left Death Row, he signed Eminem. Some think with out Dr. Dre, there would be no Eminem. Dre is known to be the “richest rap star,” after producing Beats Electronics in 2006 with Jimmy Iovine and selling that line to Apple. Dre also, recently released a new album called “Compton,” which...

...Not only that but I feel the director did a even better job in showing how quick money and opportunities can run out of someone’s hand. Like when Eazy-E felt that he was so superior to the rest of the group he then later came to understand that when you do bad, bad things come out of it. By this I mean he began to throw shade at Ice Cube for becoming a solo artist and as he did that his actions caused Ice Cube to become even more famous and further his career in rapping. Making Eazy-E lose some of his money (fans). The most well directed part of this film was the part when we find out that Eazy-E has AIDS and later ends up losing his life because of it. For me a well-directed scene is when you feel that your heart has shattered into a million pieces due to a great performance and when you see the how emotional Ice Cube and Dr. Dre become when they find out that Eazy- E is dead, it makes you feel as if you lost someone you once cared about. This was probably one of the many times I felt my heart stop during this...

...result in the formulation and implementation of plans designed to achieve a company's objectives." (p. 3 para 2) Therefore, our decisions below will show our strategic plan will make our company more competitive than our competitors and our cameras most sought after. Eazy Pics Strategy Because entry-level cameras are more widely used by the general public both here in the U.S and worldwide, our main source of revenue will be on these cameras for all four geographic regions. Our plan is to be very competitive in these cameras in both the design of the cameras (components and selling price). We believe these cameras will be our main source of revenue versus the multi-featured cameras for these cameras’ main target is those individuals who are professional photographers or are more familiar with cameras and require more special/unique camera components. Also, our main source of revenue will come from North America and Europe while the other two will generate less revenue for both camera types. However, we intend to meet the demand for all four geographic by the following decisions. The most recent decisions that our team has decided to implement originated within marketing and assembly. Eazy Pics recognizes that price is often a driving determinant in the competitiveness and successful selling of the entry-level camera, as this camera usually is in the hands of beginners or average users. Given this, the product design for the entry-level camera has been set...

...gunshots and tense drug deals (“When N.W.A. Terrified White America,” Cooper). This kind of discrimination has fueled N.W.A’s efforts to unveil gangsta rap and accurately and profanely paint a misogynistic, bullet-ridden picture for their audiences. As clearly expressed in their best-selling album, Ice Cube and his gang are all “straight outta Compton,” the notoriously dangerous city in south Los Angeles county. It was 1986 in Compton, where O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson met Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, and also where the two later met Eric “Eazy-E” Wright, a local drug dealer with dreams higher than his customers. This interaction changed the face of rap forever, because if they hadn’t all met, their song, “Boyz-n-the-Hood,” wouldn’t have bonded them together to become Niggaz With Attitude (N.W.A) (Serpick, and Simon & Schuster). However, after their first album, N.W.A. and the Posse, Ice Cube left for a year of college, but came back in 1988, and together with Eazy and Dre, along with Lorenzo “MC Ren” Patterson and Antoine “DJ Yella” Carraby, began the sensational masterpiece that is Straight Outta Compton. Released later in 1989, the album sold 750,000 copies before the group had even been on tour (Serpick, and Simon & Schuster). Straight Outta Compton brought NWA a variety of national attention ranging from a newly discovered white fanbase, overly concerned parents and communities, and even angry authorities (McDermott). According to Ice Cube in an interview in 1989, “30-40% of NWA’s...
