My role on Echols Council has been my most rewarding commitment at UVA. Since Spring of 2015, I have served as both an Echols Ambassador and the Chair of Professional Development and Alumni Relations. As an Echols Ambassador, I serve as a point of contact for admitted Scholars, welcoming them to our community and answering any questions they might have about the Echols Program, UVA, and the college decision making progress in general. I help run Days on the Lawn programs for prospective students, and have especially had a part in speaking on the Echols Panel since my First Year. As the Chair of Professional Development and Alumni Relations, I am charged with developing career-minded programs for Scholars and serve as the liaison between the Echols Deans, University Career Services, Alumni, and Echols Council. These two roles together have been rewarding not only for the time and effort, endless Council meetings at night helping revise our first ever Constitution, firmly establishing the new and improved Echols Council. My time on Council, as a Chair and as an Ambassador, has been rewarding mostly for the connections I have made. The goal of reforming Echols Council was to strengthen …show more content…
Normally, I spend about 3 hours a week with sorority related events, and around 5 as Historian, where I documented the events and accomplishments of the chapter for the semester. My sorority is important to me because my sisters went above and beyond to help me after my surgery last year and so I have thrown myself into my chapter in whatever ways I can. Aside from historian, I have been a member of my chapter's Philanthropy committee since I joined and have been very invested in Sisterhood programs, serving as a point person when the officer was unable to attend. Outside of my chapter alone, I am a member of the Order of Omega, the National Greek Honor
