...Lunar eclipse From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia For other uses, see Lunar eclipse (disambiguation). A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth so that the earth blocks the sun's rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. Themost recent total lunar eclipse occurred on June 15, 2011; it was a central eclipse, visible over Europe and south America after sunset, over Africa and most of Asia, and Australia before sunrise. It was also the longest and darkest lunar eclipse of the century, lasting 100 minutes. The previous total lunar eclipse occurred on December 21, 2010, at 08:17 UTC.[ Unlike a solar eclipse, which can only be viewed from a certain relatively small area of the world, a lunar eclipse may be viewed from anywhere on the night side of the Earth. A lunar eclipse lasts for a few hours, whereas a total solar eclipse lasts for only a few minutes at any given place. Types of lunar eclipse The shadow of the Earth can be divided into two distinctive parts: the umbra and penumbra. Within the umbra, there is no direct solar radiation. However, as a result of the Sun’s large angular size, solar illumination is only partially blocked in the outer portion of the Earth’s shadow, which...

...Evaluation of Eclipse Retail Business Plan Eclipse Retail, Inc. is an Internet retailer of discounted designer fashion, jewelry and home furnishings. While its business plan presents opportunities and competitive advantages that may set the company apart from its competitors in the traditional retail sector, there are several aspects that warrant questions and further investigation. Opportunities and Risks Market In retrospect, the late 1990s did see tremendous technological advances and a proliferation of the Internet use. This, combined with the sizable market of off-price apparel, present a great opportunity for Eclipse Retail which would combine the two sectors and capitalize the traditional apparel market with the use of E-commerce. However, the business plan fails to provide sufficient information to substantiate its statement on the growing use of shopping online in the apparel market in the 1990s. Given the E-commerce websites such as Amazon.com and Ebay.com, there is no doubt that there is an existing Internet-based sales market that supports a group of consumers that are comfortable with making transactions online. However, given the unique nature of the apparel shopping, which often times requires an in-person experience in order to try on the apparel, it is not yet clear how receptive the shoppers will be if this traditional shopping experience is completely taken online. In addition, there is uncertainly surrounding the estimated size of the online...

...Plot 1923 Twilight is a classic love story, but the author has written it in an interesting twist between love and fantasy. I wouldn’t say that the story is original but the way the author, Stephanie Meyer explains things in it makes it special. If I’d put this book in a shelf at the library I wouldn’t really be able to decide where it should be, if it should be in the shelf of fantasy books or in the shelf in the category of love stories. Personally I’m not a big fan of fantasy books but I Twilight has got “the best of both worlds” without that’s getting out of hand. These books in the series are all written from Bella’s perspective except some parts where you can read it from Jacob’s, which I think that it makes it extra interesting. Setting The book takes place in Forks what is a small town in Washington, United States and when you read the book you’ll understand it. In Forks the population is just over 3000. It’s often raining and barely sunshine, even in summer time. The author Stephanie Meyer describes it well in the book and there’s also a reason why the books takes place there. In the book they say that vampires can’t be shown in sunshine without people would understand they’re different, because when they do their skin gets shiny, just as sparkling glitter. Characters In this book there are three main characters, Bella, Edward and Jacob. Bella is an ordinary teenage girl how falls in unconditionally in love with the boy in her school, Edward who is a vampire...

...WATER He was gone. Love, life, meaning…over. My life was torn apart just seconds after he tried convincing me that he was not the right one for me. His word felt like a hole that was punched right through my chest. My vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen had left me. It all happened so quickly remembered the night before, the Cullens were celebrating my birthday, when one of the Cullen family’s most feared incident of happening happened to me, occurred. Jasper, Edward’s brother, almost killed me when he smelt the drop of blood that oozed out of a paper cut I received when I was opening a gift. And now, they were gone. He was gone. They had left me. Alone. Little did they know that they had left me, unprotected, from the red-haired vampire, Victoria, who was out to get me. It was months until I realized that the love of my life was gone…forever. My best friend, Jacob Black, was there for me when I was alone or whenever I felt very down. Soon the hole I had in my chest felt as if it was healing. It was very comforting to have Jacob around. We did so many activities together that made me keep my mind off Edward. Then, one day, when I was doing something reckless, I heard a voice. A familiar, beautiful voice, soft like velvet even though it was irate. It was his voice. Edward’s. My muscles locked in place, froze me where I stood. Was I hallucinating? Soon I found out that whenever I did anything reckless, Edward appeared in every situation. Jacob promised that he would take me...

...Twilight People that are compose of students, high educated, house wife, read the book s and novels first, and then go out to see the movies just to be able to put an image on what they had already imagine by reading the book. I personally have not read any of these books or novels in relation to the twilight saga, and not even watch any of the movies. However, curiosity has taken over me because I see so much propaganda about this new movie the Breaking Dawn that I have decided that in order to be able to see this movie that many are talking about I needed to get familiar with the whole drama from the beginning. That’s how I get to Twilight the very first movie, one of the reason why I didn’t have interest of the movie was because being a fictions movie, the setting is not that appealing well I guess we are talking about vampire and they can’t be in the light, so I guess it is not appealing to me watching movie with dark backgrounds, I guess living in Washington state is not either a place to be if you are a happy outgoing person they said if you want to be depress move to the west coast. The movie takes place in a small town called Forks in the state of Washington which claim to have populations of 3,120. The town seems to be very heartwarming where everyone knows each other and good things are the only thing that happens. Bella which is the star of the movies decides to move there with her dad whom happen to be the chief of police in the town she starts attending school...

...The Good, the Bad and the Sparkly “About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him – and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be – that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him,” says Bella Swan in Twilight (Meyer 195). This sums up the major points of this book – vampires, love and self-control. Many parents feel that Twilight portrays unhealthy relationships and creates celebrity idol worship, both of which are believed to have a powerfully negative effect on society. These two people came together no differently than any normal human beings get together in high school, with mutual interests, like their knowledge of biology and their taste in music. Twilight encourages abstinence until marriage, and although the final novel, Breaking Dawn, has some underlying sexual themes, they purely pertain to the plot and are not described in scenes, only referenced to. Still, the books are far cleaner than what’s found in other books written for the same age range, television, movies, and magazines. The relationship between Bella and Edward is based on mostly compassion instead of the physical relationship that is portrayed on television. The media argues that all Twilight readers are infatuated with Edward Cullen, and buff hard body Jacob, yet most of the readers of the Twilight saga are not unhealthily obsessed with the characters or actors portraying them. Celebrity fixation...

...* ------------------------------------------------- Bella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right - vampire. But he doesn't have fangs - that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But when unexpected visitors come to town and realize...
