...Fast Food Promotional and Advertising Strategies xxxx BUS 508 – Contemporary Business xxxx xxxx Strayer University Fast Food Promotional and Advertising Strategies The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the promotional strategies of two quick service restaurants (QSR), McDonald’s and Domino’s Pizza, which both sell fast food. The paper will also recommend two ways in which a company within the fast food industry could use marketing information to differentiate itself in the marketplace to gain an advantage over its competitors. Two uses for consumer-oriented promotions that could assist a fast food company in both the short and long term are proposed in this paper. The leading fast food company, McDonald’s, has made pricing decisions to meet their competitors’ prices so that price is a nonissue and focus rather on adding value to attract customers. When their prices are equal, fast food companies can take alternate actions in order to differentiate themselves and gain competitive advantage. Lastly, the most effective advertising medium for a company in the fast food industry, which is television advertising, is examined in this paper. This paper investigated the influence of personality on entrepreneurial success. We examined the impact of gender, locus of control and risk-taking behaviour on the success of an entrepreneur. The participants in this study were thirty-five solo entrepreneurs located around Agbowo, University of Ibadan area, Ibadan, Oyo state, igeria. 34.3 percent were males and 65.7 percent were females aged between 21 and 60. Six hypotheses were tested using various statistical techniques including independent ‘t’ test, analysis of variance and multiple regression. The results showed that risk-taking behaviour and locus of control had no significant interaction effect on entrepreneurial success. There was also no significant difference between risk-taking behaviour and entrepreneurial success. The findings showed that a significant difference existed between internal locus of control and entrepreneurial success. The study also showed that there was no significant difference in the entrepreneurial success based on gender differences. Finally, locus of control, risk-taking behaviour did not collectively predict or determine entrepreneurial success. On the basis...

These expatriates are familiar with management theories and practices based on value orientations very different from those in India. Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck's Value Orientations Framework is used to provide an overview of the different types of cultural values an expatriate manager will confront in Indian society. SCOTT This article examines the extent to which consumers engage in more indulgent consumption when they are exposed to whimsically cute products and explores the process by which such products affect indulgence. Prior research on kindchenschema (baby schema) has found that exposure to cute babies or baby animals leads to more careful behavior (see the study by Sherman, Haidt, and Coan), suggesting restraint. The present research uncovers the opposite: consumers become more indulgent in their behavior after exposure to whimsically cute products. Drawing from research on cognitive priming, kindchenschema, anthropomorphization, indulgence, and regulatory focus, this research posits that exposure to whimsically cute products primes mental representations of fun, increasing consumers’ focus on approaching self-rewards and making consumers more likely to choose indulgent options. These effects do not emerge for kindchenschema cute stimuli, since they prime mental representations of vulnerability and caretaking. Four empirical studies provide evidence for the proposed effects and their underlying process. C ompanies market a rapidly increasing number and variety of cute products across numerous categories, targeting not only children but also adult consumers.
