...It is a visible light communication system that uses light from light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a medium to deliver networked, (instead of radio frequency waves) that is part of the Optical Wireless Communications technologies, which carries much more information, and has been proposed as a solution to the RF-bandwidth limitations. Also deliver mobile, high-speed communication in a similar manner as Wi-Fi and is bidirectional. The Professor Harald Haas of the University of Edinburg and his team have made another breakthrough in Li-Fi by demonstrating that up to 1.1 Gbps can now be transmitted using light waves from micro LEDs over a distance of 10m using less than 0.5W power. This proves the point that lights can be dimmed down while high data rates and coverage are maintained. About the Li-Fi industry there’s a company the name PureLiFi in which the Prof. Hass is a co-founder, already start to sell a product the name Li-1st which is the world’s first commercially available high-speed, bidirectional optical wireless system that can operate with a range of commercially available LED luminaries. It provides an IP-enabled ceiling unit and a desktop device that can be connected via USB to client devices. This industry is expected to grow up to $6 billion by 2018. This could be the future of the internet and the networks systems including the wireless connections, we just need to wait a couple months or years to see what is going to be in the future and how far we’ll get. ...

...Reflection Paper- Yoga Soccer is one of my greatest passions. I play in three outside of school leagues. I play one game on Monday and two on Fridays. My sophomore year in high school I decided to try out for the soccer team and it change my future plans completely. After playing soccer for Edinburg North High school, I understood that I wanted to become a soccer coach. Currently, in college I started my Kinesiology curriculum and I have learned many things about the benefits of being physically fit. Aside from soccer, I enjoy getting involved in many other fitness activities. Some of the activities I like to be involved in are rock climbing, flag football, and running. This semester I decided to take the yoga class as an elective. I really liked that we got to learn many yoga poses that were easy to learn step by step, and that we can practice at home. Something I really is that we also learned many pilates poses. I can’t think of anything that I disliked this class was motivating to me in many ways. I loved the extra credit that was offered, and it makes us, the students, want to keep on doing this activities. I had never tried to do yoga before, but I had heard that it was very helpful for your body, mind, and soul. I didn’t engaged in yoga because ignorantly I felt it was not going to benefit me at all. After being in yoga class with professor Rocha, I understood that it was actually a though workout. Yoga can make you become stronger, flexible, toned, and helps a...

I am taking English 1301 for the third time this Summer II course, since English has never been my strongest subject besides the fact that I know it is important to know. At first, I was a bit skeptical about taking English 1301 this summer in an unknown university, but upon entering Ms. Sanchez’s English 1301 class, it opened my eyes. I had a whole new perspective in not only reading, but also on everyday life situations. The first two times I took English 1301, I was not fully understanding the concept of the text I was reading. When walking into class on the first day of school this summer,...

The book belongs to the belles-letters style, the story is told by the 3rd person narration, but also we can find the 1st person narration (the text is partially narrative). The language of the extract is rather simple, the author used a lot of compound sentences and a lot of colloquial words that help the reader to feel the atmosphere in the cinema and the thoughts and inner condition of the main heroes. ...One billion transistors, One Uniprocessor, One Chip Alma C. Ryan GS1145 ITT Technical Institute One billion transistors, One Uniprocessor, One Chip I read an article from University of Michigan 1997 about one billion transistors, one processor, one chip. It has 5 authors- Patt Y., Patel S., Evers M., Friendly D., and Stark J.. At beginning the authors, lead me to believe they were hesitant of the existent of the one billion transistors, one uniprocessor in one chip. They have comments such as, "A billion transistors on single chips presents opportunities for new levels of computing capability". The other comment was, "The basis design problem is partitioning". However, later on, after giving their suggestions, the authors seemed to agree on the released of the said chip. This article was written in 1997. Few years before the said chip was put in the market. This article discussed both pros and cons of the upcoming one chip. One of the pros was , "the uniprocessor will be high performance". Another pros was, "that this chip will have large trace cache, and large number of reservation stations". Additionally" this chip will also have a sufficient resolution and forwarding logic" another pros that the authors mentioned. But the authors mentioned more cons than pros. Some of the cons discussed were: "one billion transistors falls far short of an infinite number, the highest performance computing system will not...

...Czech ELSPAC study” in the BMC Psychiatry journal. Specializing in the research field, Adam Fiala and his colleagues published the 2017 article in order to identify potential risk factors for developing Postpartum Depression (PPD) by using data collected via Czech version of European Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy and Childhood (ELSPAC). A total of 3233 participants are included in the survey where all of them completed the questionnaires at all three time-point (before delivery, 6 weeks after delivery and 6 month after delivery). The researchers used a univariate and multivariate type of analysis in order to calculate the prevalence of risk factors across demographics as well as identified sign of depression using the Czech translated Edinburg Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Overall, the researcher found two main risk factors that were significant at the three point of time, which are personal history of previous depressive episode and psychological stressor experience by mothers. Although the researcher present several limitations about the study they conducted, such as the large drop-out rates among participants and analysis method that cannot determine the causality of the events, still the study poses a new understanding about mothers who suffer PPD. ...
