The concert I decided to go to was an EDM concert by Kshmr w/ Blasterjaxx. The concert took place in NY inside a big open warehouse. With EDM or Electronic Dance Music the whole genera goes around fast tempo using different instruments to build up and then have a loud base drop. There are no real instruments played in a EDM concert. It is just the artist on stage with his laptop. The artist in this case Kshmr uses a synthesizer, sampler, and an electric guitar. To put all this sound together he uses a program like FL studio to actually make the music. There is no real singing in EDM its mostly all instruments. Kshmr is a popular artist and I was very happy to go and see his especially since he was preforming so close. The whole concert was about 5 …show more content…
The tempo and volume would start getting higher and higher. He would finally get to the base drop at which point he would repeat the same tone over but faster overtime. And as soon as it got everyone pumped the base would drop. It would be the same tone as before but with a few alterations and of course the base. Most of his songs would concert of this format but with different instruments, melody, tempo and so on. That is one of the things I like about Kshmr, EDM song sound very alike but everyone song he plays you can always tell the difference. Since he was not actually playing the instrument he was free to do anything while the software looped or kept playing till he was ready to change something. Every now or then he would get the crowd pumped by either pausing the song and having us sing some of the lyrics or he would jump on the table and dance and try to make us get ready for the drop. For the most part, he was dancing in place and was on his laptop or pushing ot turning buttons while the music played. The lighting on this place was also amazing. They had a lot of different color lights that moved and come on and off with the
