Dear Madam
Classic Steam Iron Fy23A
Thank you for your letter dated April 24 2013 in which you complained that the Classic Steam Iron you purchased on the 23 of April is leaking. Also, that it does not have the capacity you expected.

In order to find out the exact nature of the problem, our technician had to dismantle the iron. He found that there is a hole in the base of the tank which had lost it original shape, size and capacity. The cause of the problem is that hot water was poured into the plastic water tank. This caused the tank to wrap, shrink and leak through the ole mention above.

I wish to draw your attention to the following:

At the time of purchased a very clearly worded user’s manual was delivered to you.
Filling of the water tank was demonstrated to your expressed satisfaction.
During the demonstration the water tank was filled to maximum capacity.

Due to our findings, we do not hold ourselves responsible for the damages incurred. Nevertheless, because of the goodwill that exists between our establishments, I shall replace your iron with another iron of identical description and value at no cost to firm.

I am taking the opportunity to inform you that the goods about which you have being enquiring approved yesterday and sorting should be completed this afternoon. We had therefore be pleased to have you or your assistant buyer come in between 08 30 hours and 1100 hours to select the specific items in which you are interested.

Yours sincerely

Ms Marjorie Gaites-Boalts

Ibm and Porter Five Forces

...business computers (Bellis, 2015). What started the beginning of IBM’s history, was on June 16, 1911 when three successful companies merged together; The Tabulating Machine Company, The International Time Recording Company, and The Computing Scale Company of America. These three companies joined together and formed one company, The Computing Tabulating Recording Company. In 1924, Watson changed the company’s name to what we know today as IBM (Bellis, 2015). IBM began manufacturing calculators in the 1930s, using the technology of their own punch card processing equipment. The financed the invention of the Mark 1 Computer with Harvard University in 1944. By 1953, IBM was ready to produce their own computers, which began with the IBM 701 EDPM, which was their first commercially successful general-purpose computer (Bellis, 2015). In 1980, Bill Gates agreed to create an operating system for IBM’s computer for the home consumer. Once IBM had now stepped into the home consumer market it sparked the computer revolution. Below, Table 1 will give a detailed report into IBM’s financial statistics, but here are a few key points into their 2014 annual report. IBM’s stock price is currently at $144.40 per share. They have a P/E ratio of 9.62 with being one of the leading companies in the computer industry; IBM received total revenue at the end of 2014 of 92.72 million. With those earnings or revenue, IBM received a net...

Electro-Osmotic Pulse Technology

...Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 General Groundwater intrusion through a building's foundation can cause serious damage. In addition to increased concrete deterioration and accelerated rebar corrosion, basement dampness can ruin expensive electrical and mechanical equipments, which are often located in basement space; can increase maintenance requirements through frequent repainting or cleaning to combat mould growth; and can make affected areas uninhabitable or even unusable due to poor air quality. In selective problem areas, the usual approach to the treatment of water intrusion problems is to 'trench and drain', in other words, to excavate and expose the wall area and the base of the foundation, to replace waterproofing on the wall surface, and to install a drain tile system around the building or affected area. Other areas, such as floors, are untreatable using conventional methods. Electro-osmotic pulse (EOP) technology offers an alternative solution that can mitigate some water-related problems from the interior of affected areas without the cost of excavation. Further, by lessening water seepage through concrete walls and floors, indoor humidity is reduced, thereby alleviating corrosion damage to mechanical equipment, lessening mould problems, and enhancing indoor air quality. 1.2 Electro-Osmotic Flow If ions of one sign are preferentially adsorbed at a solid solution interface, a net charge or electric potential difference develops across the interface. This...

Computer

...A BRIEF COMPUTER HISTORY The computer as we know it today had its beginning with a 19th century English mathematics professor name Charles Babbage. He designed the Analytical Engine and it was this design that the basic framework of the computers of today are based on. Generally speaking, computers can be classified into three generations. Each generation lasted for a certain period of time, and each gave us either a new and improved computer or an improvement to the existing computer. First generation: 1937 – 1946 - In 1937 the first electronic digital computer was built by Dr. John V. Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. It was called the Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC). In 1943 an electronic computer name the Colossus was built for the military. Other developments continued until in 1946 the first general– purpose digital computer, the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) was built. It is said that this computer weighed 30 tons, and had 18,000 vacuum tubes which was used for processing. When this computer was turned on for the first time lights dim in sections of Philadelphia. Computers of this generation could only perform single task, and they had no operating system. Second generation: 1947 – 1962 - This generation of computers used transistors instead of vacuum tubes which were more reliable. In 1951 the first computer for commercial use was introduced to the public; the Universal Automatic Computer (UNIVAC 1). In 1953 the International Business Machine (IBM)...
