Education 2120 has expanded my ideals on the topic of diversity and also how to address it. Before this class, I had a close minded view that only included my personal beliefs. This class has shown me that there is WAY MORE to diversity than simply skin color or background. Diversity includes an immense amount of subtopics that expanded into their own topics. Diversity is not a simple subject and should be used in most classroom situations to better the classroom environment.
The discussions in Education 2120 were completely different from the previous 2120 class that I took in the fall. In Education 2110, the discussions were surface level and do not seem like they would have an impact on my education career. I felt like everyone in our class was ready to share their thoughts but also their personally experiences. Sharing experiences, to me, is one of the best ways to learn from others. I believe that gaining others perspectives also broadens my own. The best moments in this class were when we started the discussion with previously prepared …show more content…
Group projects are often difficult because not everyone in the group is motivated to give the project a majority of their attention. Both presentations brought their own difficulties but in the end they worked out. If I could redo the presentation, I would make sure everyone had a clear understanding on what it means to committee to the group. This education class has a high impact on my future as an educator therefore I always tried to give it all my effort. These presentations are a good preparation for what it is going to be like in a classroom. Lesson plans will need to be thoroughly thought out and developed like our presentation should have been. Although these presentations seemed difficult at the time, they taught me important lessons that I can transfer to my future

Artsinfluences of Hengshui Dialect on Englishpronunciation Learningcandidate

...in the primary school. But there is no systematic knowledge ofphonetics in the textbooks.Phonetics learning needs not only the phonics imitation method, but also the basic knowledge about phonetics. However, with the influence of quality-orientededucation and the western language teaching mode, pronunciation teaching in China tends touse the imitation method and the basic knowledge of phonetics is undervalued. It is worth tonotice that English acquisition environment for Chinese students is different from the West.First,English teachers in China are mostly Chinese.Even if there are foreign teachers, theforeigners teaching force is relatively weak.Second, the language surrounding to the studentsis mainly in Chinese. And students in the oral English class are not active to participate andinteract. Moreover,English belongs to Indo-European language system, while Chinesebelongs to Sino-Tibetan language system. They belong to different language families andthere are many differences in tone, syllable and phoneme. Thus the negative influence ofChinese on the English acquisition is great.Without any basic knowledge of phonetics, thelearners will meet lots of difficulties when they learn a new language which is quite differentfrom their mother tongue. Therefore, the Chinese phonetic teaching only relying on theimitation phonics method is premature. This study aims at the practical problems in phonetics teaching. And the basic currentsituation of English phonetics teaching in Hengshui is summed up by the way...

Internal Audit Principles

...INTERNAL AUDIT PRINCIPLES The main and ancillary objectives of an internal audit The main objective of internal auditing is to assist members of executive and senior management in the effective discharge of their duties and responsibilities with regard to risk management, control and governance processes. To this end, the internal auditor furnishes them with analyses, appraisals, recommendations, counsel and information concerning the activities reviewed. The discovery of errors and fraud is the ancillary objective of internal auditing. The internal auditor as an adviser to members of the organization As an adviser, the internal auditor examines and reviews the activities of the organization in order to evaluate them with a view to furnishing members of the organization with advice, information and recommendations that will enable them to discharge their duties effectively. As an adviser, the internal auditor merely offers advice, gives information or makes recommendations. The ultimate decision whether or not to accept this advice or information or to implement these recommendations, therefore always rests with executive management. The internal audit activity should never possess the organizational power to force top executive management to accept the audit results. Management may decide to: 1. accept the auditor’s recommendations, in which case the internal auditor must ascertain that the corrective action taken is achieving the desired results, or ...

Demography of Germany

...Demography of Germany Concepts, Data, and Methods G. Rohwer U. P¨tter o Version 3 October 2003 Fakult¨t f¨r Sozialwissenschaft a u Ruhr-Universit¨t Bochum, GB 1 a 44780 Bochum goetz.rohwer@ruhr-uni-bochum.de ulrich.poetter@ruhr-uni-bochum.de Preface This text is an introduction to concepts and methods of demographic description and analysis. The substantial focus is on the demographic development of Germany, all data refer to this country. The main reason for this focus on a single country is that we want to show how the tools of demography can actually be used for the analysis of demographic problems. The text consists of two parts. Part I introduces the conceptual framework and explains basic statistical notions. This part also includes a short chapter that explains how we speak of “models” and why we do not make a sharp distinction between “describing” and “modeling” demographic processes. Then follows Part II that deals with data and methods. In the present version of the text, we almost exclusively discuss mortality and fertility data; migration is only mentioned in Chapter 6 and briefly considered in the context of a Leslie model at the end of the text. In addition to providing a general introduction to concepts of demography, the text also intends to show how to practically work with demographic data. We therefore extensively document all the data used and explain the statistical calculations in detail. In fact, most of these calculations are quite simple;...
