Specific careers have changed constantly, ranging from becoming a teacher to an engineer. As I got older, I began to assess my strengths and weaknesses as well as my likes and dislikes. I know a college education is essential in today’s economy and society. Doors are opened to those with college degrees and a better lifestyle is guaranteed. A college education is not only economically beneficial but intellectually as well, for it provides a unique learning experience as it caters to an individual’s interests Coming from a very humble family made me realize that college is very important. While I never lacked anything, as I grew older, at one point in life I realized my parents would struggle to make ends meet. Going to college and getting a career was something they always told me to pursue, so that I would not go through the struggles they did. Going to college to pursue my career and getting educated in something I am interested is not only something I want to do for myself but for my parents as well. I have come to the realization that they have worked extremely hard for me, and I’m old enough...

...to the lower class, I still have many opportunities and life chances. However, the opportunities are lesser compared to those who are in the upper class. Despite that, I desire to use my education as a key to the many desirable aspects of the society. The current state of the economy affects my situation because it is undeniable that my education is controlled by economic factors such as money. Those who have more money are able to acquire higher quality of education. My middle class has limited my life in a way that I cannot always buy the resources that would allow me to achieve greater things in life. Further, the middle class shaped the communities I have lived in and the institutions I have had access to because how I live and how I access resources depend on my ability to do so. My social networks also depend on the people I get to mingle on a daily basis. My lifestyle depends on what I can afford. Despite that, I still view the world as a place where I can do greater things only if I have the courage to pursue what I really want in life. From what I have learned, as an everyday actor, I have to use my practical knowledge to go through with life (Ferris and Stein). Aside from that, I have to bear in mind what Ferris and Stein mentioned, that the society and the people in general depend with each...

They are responsible for molding a student's personality and shaping his/her mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own. Meanwhile, there are three types of teachers who I have met and learned from. Once they are accepted to their college and developed a routine, African Americans males tend to forget their motive why they are in college in the first place. They fail to realize how much work they had to put in to get where they are today and become lazy when it comes to responsibilities. Once they lose focus on their academic priorities it decreases their chances being successful which puts them a situation that’s will result in a consequence in their education. According to James a 20-year-old business major from suburbs “I waited until the last minute . . . [the end of the semester] and I failed the course.” Once they are given their independence they take advantage of their college experience. They assumed that can party all night long and still aced a quiz the next day. Males think they know everything based on other people experience or what their expectations they do not really have to focus. Additionally, African Americans males promote negative stereotypes. They mimic the negative actions of music artists such as Chief Keef by degrading women, calling them out of their name, and by promoting the idea that selling and doing drugs will make them successful. By committing some of these actions, African Americans males will be terminated from their university also be unsuccessful and possibly be charged for a crime. ...Critique Paper on the K to 12 Curriculum The central feature of the K to 12 Program is the upgrading of the basic education curriculum to ensure that learners acquire the relevant knowledge and skills they will need to become productive members of society. With the participation of the Commission on Higher Education and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the program has the capability of offering professionally designed classes and apprenticeships in sports, the arts, middle-level skills, entrepreneurship, and applied math and sciences. It will take years, but we will have to start with basic prerequisites. Crucial is improving higher education. As for my arguments in favor of the K+12 educational programs, I offer these insights based not on controlled experiments, but on personal observation only. First, the quality of today’s science and technology graduates all over the world (especially in contemporary physical science and engineering, and increasingly in the life sciences as well) depends critically on the content of the most common technical pre-requisites: 1) mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, probability and statistics; 2) physics, including mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and elementary statistical and quantum theory; and 3) chemistry beyond the traditional molecular accounting taught in survey courses, including some of what is otherwise reserved for intermediate courses...

...yet to experience. There are so many people that I have yet to meet. But I am taking things day by day, one at a time. I have thought long and hard as to what my philosophy on life is. And that philosophy is “Never Be Satisfied.” Coming from a family of nothing but athletes, this phrase is used in my household a lot; almost every day, actually. It is something that I live by in athletics and in life as well. However, growing up I never fully understood what “never be satisfied,” meant. My Philosophy: The moment I started high school was when I truly began to think about what never being satisfied meant. I already knew how the phrase fit into my life athletically, but athletics was not my entire life. It took me a few years, but I finally realized what “never be satisfied” really meant. To never be satisfied means to never stop growing as a person. Never stop growing emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Different experiences have affected me positively and negatively, but they have also made me grow as a person. Mentally and emotionally, I have been tested and pushed past my breaking point, but it was an experience that I would never trade for any other. The knowledge I have acquired throughout the years has helped my outlook on the people that surround me and everything that I have been through has molded me into the human being that I am today. Yet, I am still not satisfied. I am not done learning and I am not done improving myself. Education Philosophy: Education in the...
