Think about a misunderstanding you have experienced with another person at work, school, or in a health care environment. Write your answers in paragraph form.

1. Briefly describe the misunderstanding, including the setting and the people involved.
At my previous employer Home Depot there was a misunderstanding between me and a fellow coworker about a schedule change. I needed to leave early one day to go to the doctors for a medical condition so a fellow coworker offered to come in early for her shift to cover my hours. Everything was fine and when the day came I left early with the understanding that she would be there to cover my last two hours. The coworker did not end up showing and when I returned to work the next day I was greeted by a furious manager. He was angry because he was left shorthanded and since it was my shift it was my responsibility to make sure the hours were covered. My manager and I talked with the coworker to see why she did not show up and she explained that she had completely forgotten that she agreed to cover the hours. After some talking we all realized it was a mistake on me and my coworkers parts for not letting the manager know and forgetting about the early shift and then everything was okay.
