The purpose of this experiment is to conduct an investigation to provide evidence that seashells will dissolve more in a warmer acidic solution than a colder acidic solution. In the lab, students placed one seashell in each of three beakers containing high acidity solution with varying temperatures (that were measured in a way that symbolizes hot, cold, and room temperature). The students left the beakers over the weekend and came back seventy-two hours later to check on the results. The students then removed the seashells carefully and washed them and then weighed them.
