The discussion to return to school for furthering ones education for personal growth versus financial growth. Often I considered returning to school to persue a masters degree, but was reluctant to move forward with this initiative due to cost, time and the thought of do I really need to. I make decent money with my bachelors degree and I have been working in my field for over 15 years and have scene moderate growth. The desire for more money will continue until I find myself selecting the lucky numbers for the lottery.

Earlier this past year I joined a toastmasters club to attempt to develop better communication and leadership skills. The one thing that continued to arise were the number of individuals that were continuing their education beyond their bachelors degrees. Observing and listing to several of the speeches that had been given allowed me to get a better understanding of why I had a inner desire to return to school. Personal growth and fullfillment, in hopes that bettering myself it would inturn enhance not only my knowledge but afford me the ability to achieve financial growth as a by product of this.

I have returned to school and yes it has been chanllenging balancing all the activites that I participate in, but each day I feel better about the journey that I have chosen to undertake. Joining this site is a continued effort to improve my communication skills by being able to review how others share their

Steps in Making an Effective Research Paper

...How to Conduct Academic Research Students and professionals both know that conducting accurate, valid, and timely research into academic topics such as history, literature, or anthropology is critical to success in the classroom and at work. Writing the results into a paper is also a major step in the process. Here are some basic steps in performing secondary research. 1. Determine your research topic/question. In some classes, students are told to find a topic; this means the exercise is for the purpose of learning the research process. In other situations, the required topic is clearly indicated from the class, your own work, or your professional needs. Your topic can be aroused from a sense of curiosity, hunch and interest over a particular perceived problem that you feel needed to be filled in the gap of knowledge. 2. Understand the difference between primary and secondary research. a. Primary research means doing original research, meaning that this knowledge doesn't appear in any other paper. You might be reading through original treaties, newspaper articles, or authentic letters from authors or statesmen. You might be conducting scientific, medical or engineering experiments. b. Secondary research, the focus of this wikiHow article, means reading other experts' published papers to learn something new about your topic, to survey what others have said and written about it, to reach a conclusion about your ideas on the topic. 3. Determine your scope...

Firstly the rock size and mass was measured to determine the density and bulk volume using an electronic ruler and mass balance. Then using the helium porosimeter the grain volume of each core plug sample was measured. Each of these measurements were repeated three times and then averaged for precision sake. The porosity was then calculated by subtracting the grain volume from the bulk volume, to determine the pore volume, and then dividing by the bulk volume. The porosity results for all the samples were reasonable except for sample 1 and 6 for which the porosity is calculated to be in negative % and make no logic. These possible reasons for these inaccurate results are that the group made high errors in reading the measurements or did the experiment in a wrong method. 2-Introduction For the storage of oil and gas in any reservoir rock presence of porosity is vital. However, the degree of porosity in any rock depends upon...

Effective Collaboration Research Paper

...Effective Collaboration Effective collaboration should be a daily practice to support inclusion and all student learning. To meet the needs of all students in general education classes, collaboration is the dominant component everyone should maintain to enhance and ensure performance and success in our society. Collaborators are intended to work together to create and brainstorm solutions for students. So, effective collaborations therefore display reciprocal principles and efficient dispositions. Dispositions are needed in order to create a productive collaboration among team members. Dispositions are defined as one's professional attitudes, belief, and value displayed and demonstrated among others. Strategic Management of Business Policy Formulation and Implementation Between Bangladesh and India

...Strategic Management of Business Policy Formulation and Implementation between Bangladesh and India Course Title: Strategic Management Course Code: MBA 512 Prepared for Prof: Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Ph.D. Visiting Professor of IUB Prepared by Mostafizur Rahman 1221544 Shamsher Ali 113060 Abstract The business relationship between India and Bangladesh is currently of special interest in both countries for a number of reasons. Firstly, there are urgent and longstanding concerns in Bangladesh arising from the perennial, large bilateral trade deficit with India, and from the large volumes of informal imports from India across the land border which avoid Bangladesh import duties. These concerns have been particularly acute on the Bangladesh side in the context of discussions between the two governments of the possibility of a bilateral free trade agreement along the lines of the India-Sri Lanka FTA. Secondly, even though (because of the disparity in the size of the two economies) India’s trading relationship with Bangladesh is much less significant for it than it is for Bangladesh, closer economic integration with Bangladesh is nevertheless seen as a very important way of reducing the economic and political isolation of the seven Indian eastern and north eastern states from the rest of the country. Finally, both countries have long shared common objectives for closer economic integration...

Mcbride Marketing Plan

...families and/or individuals purchasing recreational properties. The purpose of this paper is to outline a marketing plan that will enable McBride Financial Services to accomplish their mission through market analysis, research and web based advertising. As with any marketing plan you must know the best ways to attract customers. This goes hand-in-hand with understanding customer needs and what type of service they expect from the provider. Analyzing a customer’s interest and ability in taking on a mortgage is also a key component to present and future success. Interest can be accelerated through various incentive programs, rebates and other offers that should be focused on making the decision process for the customer as easy as possible. One method to truly understand a customer’s interest is by conducting surveys and soliciting feedback. This simple research method helps to focus on the actual needs, expectations and preferences of the customer while showing an interest in their concerns. Surveys can also help form targeted groups or communities so money and marketing is concentrated in areas that may produce the best results. These results can easily create external buyer interest that could evolve into a contagious buying environment. Another aspect of market research is finding...

Leadership

...Leadership theory and practice: Fostering an effective symbiosis Stephen J. Zaccaro*, Zachary N.J. Horn Department of Psychology, Center for Behavioral and Cognitive Study, George Mason University, David J. King Hall, 4400 University Drive, 3064 Fairfax, VA 22030-444, USA Accepted 12 September 2003 Abstract Leadership theory has not lived up to its promise of helping practitioners resolve the challenges and problematics that occur in organizational leadership. Many current theories and models are not contextualized, nor do the dynamic and critical issues facing leaders drive their construction. Alternatively, practitioners too often approach leadership problems using trial and error tactics derived more from anecdotes and popular fads than validated scientific data and models. Yet, while this gap between theory and research has bedeviled the leadership community for much of its history, there have been few if any systematic examinations of its causes. In this review, we have sought to highlight the particular barriers on the leadership practice and theory-building/testing constituencies, respectively, that constrain efforts to integrate them. We also offer a number of propositions and guidelines that we hope can break through these barriers and help stakeholders create a more effective leadership theory and practice symbiosis (LTPS). Finally, we have offered two cases of effective LTPS as examples and models for such integrative research efforts. D 2003 Published by Elsevier Inc...

Ethical Violations

...After reading the passage, I realized a few ethical violations could be recognized. Before a study or research could be conducted, all participants should be informed on the purpose of the research, what procedures are involved, benefits of the research and any risks related to the research. In psychology, one of the professional codes of ethics is that all participants must consent to the research and must be debriefed. In the Guatemala study, female commercial sex workers were injected with diseases such as gonorrhea, chancroid, and syphilis without their prior knowledge and consent. Secondly, the soldiers and prison inmates were infected with the disease by having sex with the infected sex workers without knowledge of them being infected or being participants in a research. Additionally, when the researchers found out that the soldiers were infected by the female commercial sex workers, they changed their approach by infecting them with gonorrhea through inoculations into the urethra, skin injections of chancroid and syphilis and also exposing the foreskin of the penis to other infectious material. This is again was done without their consent, hence they were decepted. Another code of ethics is the protection of the client’s welfare. Human participants should not be infected or injected, or put in any harm. Researchers must ensure that participants taking part in a research must be protected from physical and mental harm. For example, participants should not be exposed to...
