The antique book shoppe on Maple Street that was once a rather popular meeting spot now goes unnoticed by many if not all. Merry children will skip along their way with their talkative mothers following closely behind. Children in their teens scurry about looking quite conspicuous despite their effort to look the exact opposite. The street is a bustling crowd of people of all shapes and sizes but still, the bookstore sits untouched. Untouched that is except for one young girl. Elizabeth Smith was the third eldest daughter in a large family of seven. Her father, Mr. Smith, was a respectable man but with nothing to his name besides great love from all friends and neighbors. Mr. Smith and his close friend Mr. Tuckins opened a candy shoppe years before Elizabeth was born. Fortunately, the candy shoppe had managed to maintain its status as a well run business and it satisfies the needs of both the families of Mr. Smith and Mr. Tuckins. Elizabeth had outgrown her schooling years, and had decided on a career that would bring her right back to the schoolhouse. A teacher. Most mothers in this town felt they had better things to do than to teach their children so they sent them to Elizabeth. An abandoned schoolhouse sat besides the unused well near the forest. Elizabeth fixed up the house by herself and now taught the children throughout the week. She had sent her students home for the day but she was forced to stay at her desk thinking of the next days test questions. She began to daydream about her special place; "her" bookstore.
