Elizabethtown College is a private institution on 200 acres in Elizabethtown, PA. Located near Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, and Philadelphia students have access to many surrounding towns and activities. Elizabethtown is a small town of 20,000 people and students will find small shops, chain stores, coffee shops, eateries, a movie theater, and plenty of parks for outdoor activity. Elizabethtown college was chartered in 1899 and received accreditation by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Instruction in 1948. The Blue Jay was voted as the college’s mascot in the 1930’s because of its scrappy nature and matching school colors of royal blue and gray. The mission of the athletics department is to provide students with varsity sports programs that support and enhance their learning experience.

Several annual traditions can be found at E-town, including celebrations for new students like an induction ceremony and the first-year walk. Students also host a convocation to mark the start of new academic years, a homecoming and family weekend, and a weekend for engaging in community service. Faculty are also known to participate in events like the annual Thanksgiving dinner, where they prepare a meal for students.
