Chapter I
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction
The use of manual processes has declined since the rise of computerized and automated systems. Today, the use of computer-based system is spreading throughout the other countries around the world, due to the increased productivity and effectiveness of data processing. In case of Barangay167 office, they are currently using manual inventory where in listing of the items are done manually. The computerized inventory system for the supplies of Barangay 167 is for the production of correct reports, fast retrieval of the correct data; reduce the amount of the record book and information occupying a small office. Some of the system provides a computer based information system for the current inventory. The proposed system will provide a great help to the barangay officials and the barangay residences. Computerization will ease their report preparation and the generation and eliminate their manual processes. It was proposed to allow the authorized users to easily manipulate the data and the necessary updates. Specified users can also easily to view and retrieve reports. It will also allow them to monitor the supplies. Some of the benefits of the said system are, first it will computerize the record of the supplies. Second, it will provide an efficient and convenient report and maintenance. Lastly, it will automate manual inventory of supplies. Monitoring encompasses the tracking of the processes, so that information on their state can be easily seen and statistics on the performance of one or more process can be provided. Having a computerized Inventory system provides "real time" assessment of inventory levels.
