Thank you for considering my application to the Eller College of Management. Because of my past work experiences and passion for the subject, I am seeking a major and career in business management. From age 16 until my high school graduation, I worked as a food runner and waitress in a local, family owned restaurant. It was there that I had my first peek into the business world; I saw the most important aspects of business at the root of their small company. It was a gift to have the opportunity to understand the owners on a deeper level along with their goals, passions, and true personalities rather than seeing them primarily for their position as a “boss.” This is something that may have never happened if I worked at a corporate restaurant chain. Two of the most important values in businesses that I believe I encompass are a strong sense of ethics and hard work. In my everyday life, I have found that the happiest and most successful companies have a deep care for their customers and coworkers. This means using ethics as a priority in decision-making. While the prosperity of a business is vital to success, it must start with truly caring for customers and employees. As I learned in my limited business experience, when I treated my customer’s right, I earned their business and they learned my name as they came back and requested my service. Ethics shows that treating your customers and coworkers with care brings rewards greater than any sum of money can fulfill. I feel that my persona not only captures high moral values, but also a hardworking attitude. During my time in the family owned business, I was the youngest to be promoted to a waitress and averaged higher tips than my older, more experience coworkers. Moreover, all my life I
