WEEK 5 tutorial – Written communication exercise

1) Step 1 – Find access to the internet. You can do this via iPhone, android phone, Laptop or computer etc.

2) Step 2 – you must go to your emails providers’ website e.g. “www.gmail.com” when you get here you need to log into your email address. You should see a window such as below.

3) Step 3 – Once you have logged into your email, you now should now look for the “compose” icon/text. This will bring you directly to a page allowing you to create an email. It should look something similar to this.

4) Step 4 – Now that you have logged in and have the compose email window/page open you should continue and begin your email. For this competition you will need to enter this email address “ competitions@mail.com “ Enter it in the “to” section. Choose a subject if you wish, however it is not necessary.

5) Step 5 – To attach your desired photograph you will need to find the “ attach a file “ icon/text on the email page. Usually it is a paperclip symbol or it may be in text. It should look something like this. Once you locate it, select it. 6) Step 6 – You now attach your Photograph by locating the file wherever you have it saved. You do this by browsing through your files. The browse option will become available once you select attach a file or click the paperclip symbol.

7) Step 7 – Now that your file is attached and your email is typed. You are good to go! Check for any typos or errors you may have made. Once you have done this you can now hit the send button and your email along with your photograph will send!
