The first reformer that I will be discussing is Emma Robarts. Emma Robarts was a British Christian activist and she was known for developing the program called the Young Women's Christian Association. Emma Robarts and Mrs. Arthur Kinnaird of London opened the first Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), which is the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world (Kinsella, 2015). The movement spread quickly across the world, and this organization had aspects and goals that was very important to people especially women. The mission of the YWCA has always been to eliminate racism and empower women (Kinsella, 2015).
