...Monica Lomax Strayer University HRM 530-Dr. Barrett November 28, 2011 Employee satisfaction has a huge impact on the employee turnover rate in any company. The correlation between the two is obvious. If employees are satisfied with their job, the turnover rate will be lower than that of a company with unhappy employees. Malik, a new manager to a company, witnessed how an unsatisfied employee could be a potential loss of an asset. On Malik’s first day at his new job he was approached by one his new employees who was in distress. She came to him expressing how exhausted and frustrated she was with her job and that she planned to quit soon, despite being one of the organizations top performing employees. The employee told Malik that the workload was inconsistent. Ultimately, the employee felt overworked and the organizations shows a lack of challenge and skill enhancement for the employees. (Stewart & Brown, p.394) The concerns of this employee are the concerns of many employees from companies and organizations world wide. Employee satisfaction is the terminology used to describe whether employees are happy and are fulfilling their desires and needs at work. Factors contributing to employee satisfaction include treating employees with respect, providing regular employee recognition, empowering employees, offering above industry-average benefits and compensation, providing employee perks and company activities, and positive management within a success framework...

The aim of law is to uphold common good. Common good is that attribute or feature of communities which are desirable and so have to be nurtured and kept intact. This can be done only by people in authority and hence the law is to upkeep the common good exercising certain statutes may boil down the law to certain tough standards and so becomes authoritative in the sense that everyone has to follow it irrespective of whether someone has harmed society or not. It cannot use discretionary powers hence; it is looked at with a certain perspective as being applicable to all concerned and especially to those whose aim is to harm people of common good. Statutes have been enacted to prohibit certain unhealthy practices creeping into society and setting wrong precedents in normal human relationship. The law steps in and punishes those who try to create wrong ideas of community good and so it is looked upon as the only tool that can bring to book wrong action. Maria brought the display and was refused to display it, when she wrote to the headquarter and she was terminated. Now she should proceed like this, either she should write to somebody responsible for...

...The use of apprentices is good not only for your businesses but also for the industry as a whole. Entrepreneur Julie White tells her experience of employing them Times are tough in the construction industry, of that there is no doubt. The chancellor, in his autumn statement, has promised £5bn in infrastructure spending and I only hope that the money does not filter through but comes cascading through the system in order to get our industry moving again. When times are tight, everyone is looking at where they can cut back and save but it would be of huge detriment to our industry if the axe started to fall on apprenticeships. I am a massive believer in apprentices. Around 45% of my overall workforce has been through, or is currently going through, our apprenticeship scheme. I've even put myself through the scheme because I want to know what the guys go through on a day-to-day basis. The question is often put to me: why bother? People who ask this will say that apprenticeships are pointless because you end up spending money on training someone up and then they leave when you have invested a great deal of time and money into them. I have a couple of answers to that. Firstly, if every company takes that attitude where is the new blood going to come from in our industry? Don't get me wrong, I am not on a selfless quest, but I would much rather train an apprentice and lose them to the industry now and again, than to see the construction industry slowly eroded because we never...

...“Marketing Strategy for Products” Date: October 29, 2011 Abstract In my formal research I will discuss the type of product the company will offer and identify its primary characteristics. I will discuss the product branding strategy. I will also discuss how the product fits within a product line and the depth and breadth of the line. Lastly, I will explain how the product and target market strategies fit with the organizational strategy. PurseswithPersonality is an online based company, which sells purses and accessories of all kinds. If we don’t have it, ask and we will try to get it. I would consider this a shopping product. My customers would have the convenience of shopping at their discretion. The website is accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I would also make sure my customers have customer service available all day as well. One of my company’s characteristics is a competitive advantage in that we have more disposable income over a boutique styled accessory and purse store, because I don’t have to pay leasing fees. That money can go towards paying bills or purchasing more merchandise. Other characteristics of my company would be, to sustain a work environment full of dignity and respect. Make employees feel they and the job they do are important. I would develop great leaders, which leads to loyalty. I think recognizing employee contribution...

...Cold chain in healthcare is defined as the temperat ure-controlled supply chai n involving a system of transporting and storing vaccines and pharmaceutical drugs. It consists of three major components − transport and storage equipment, trained personnel, and effi cient management procedures. The majority of the vaccines in the cold chain are typically maintained at a temperature of 35-46 degrees Fahrenheit [2-8 degrees Centigrade]. Maintaining cold chain integrity is extremel y important for healthcare product manufacturers. Especially for the vaccines, improper storage and ha ndling practices that compromise vaccine viability prove a costly, time-consuming affair. Vaccines must be stored properly from manufacture until they are available for use. Any extreme temperatures of heat or cold will reduce vaccine potency; such vaccines, if administered, might not yield effective re sults or could cause adverse effects. Effectively maintaining the temperatures of storage units throughout the he althcare supply chain in real time − i.e. , beginning from the gathering of the resources, manufacturing, distribu tion, and dispensing of the products − is the most effective solution desired in the cold chain. Also, the location-tagged real-time environmental data about the storage units helps in monitoring the cold chain for spoiled products. The chain of custody can be easily id entified to assign product liability. A study...

...Compare the methods that ‘Presents from my Aunts in Pakistan’ employs to highlight the importance of cultural identity with another poem? I have chosen to compare ‘Presents’ and ‘Hurricane’ as both poems highlight the importance of cultural identity in society. Both poets ‘Alvi’ and ‘Nicholas’ employ many different and similar methods to illustrate the importance of cultural identity. The poem ‘Presents’ is about the writer herself at a younger age feeling insecure as she is of dual heritage (mixed race) ‘in my English Grandmother’s dining - room. In the poem the poet begins to conflict with herself as she believes that she is not of one set race ‘I was there of no fixed nationality’. Throughout the poem the poet begins to show her insecurity as she begins to respond to the presents her aunties bought her from her native land negatively ‘I could never be as lovely as those clothes’. A t the end of the poem the Alvi is unable to resolve her problem as she finishes the poem feeling rather down saying ‘I was there of no fixed nationality’. The poem ‘Hurricane’ is rather similar in the way that it is again autobiographical. In the poem the writer is also in conflict with herself as she has left her motherland Guyana to move to England. At first the poet dreaded England but as soon as there was news of a Hurricane she began to feel much at home as hurricanes happen often in the southern equator. The writer shows her relationship with the...

...Art Appreciation Question 1. Analyze this painting by addressing these three formal elements and terms describe the palette, shape and Space. Be sure to identify the perspective system employed in this painting The palette, or range of colors used in this painting, have a more neutral tone. The combination of forest greens, golden yellows, faint blues, and grays, combined with the lack of any bright colors, gives the painting a more neutral look. The painting employs several triangle shapes, which can be seen at the apex of the trees and the two mountains in the posterior of the landscape. The spacing of the painting is both three-dimensional and deep. As one looks into the painting, it feels as if one could walk into the painting and move into the landscape. The painting has depth, as it feels like one can “see for miles” into the painting. This painting certainly employs an aerial perspective system, as the clouds, haze of the atmosphere, and vantage point all add depth to the space. Question 2. Explain how the artist uses color create space. (In answering this question, be sure to identify if the compositional space is two dimensional or three dimensional) Also articulate how the artist uses color to convey light and rhythm. The artist uses the varying colors on the red background to create the perception of three-dimensional space.
